Malick Mercier is a student journalist that loves crying, laughing, and chai lattes.  He is sophomore Journalism major at Ithaca College and the host of this news on IGTV where he reports on the passions and pains of Gen Z on they platform we love. Over the summer, Malick was an intern/producer at ABC’s new digital brand, Localish where he shot, edited, produced, and reported a segment on the JFK Airport’s first hotel, the TWA Hotel.  Malick is most known for hosting Instagram’s coverage of the March for Our Lives in Washington, D.C. on the official @Instagram account for 230+ million viewers. Additionally, Malick has worked with Teen Vogue, Seventeen Magazine, Mic.com, DoSomething.org, and JetBlue.

• Podcastlerimizin yeni bölümüne hoş geldiniz. 5. bölümde yine ilginç< konular hakkında biraz sohbet edeceğiz. Son günlerin en önemli konusu Huawei. Hem huawei akıllı telefon sahibi olanlar hem de satın almayı düşünenlerin akıllarında soru işareti var. Huawei ekibinde özgüven çok yüksek. Her sonuca hazır işlerine devam ediyorlar. Geçtiğimiz gün, iftar davetinde Türkiye ekibi ile bir araya geldik, sanki bir şey olmamış gibi davranıyorlar. Global tarafta da 2019'da üretim yapmak için malzeme aldılar, TSMC tarafında yeni işlemci üretmek için planlar var. Kendi işletim sistemi için çalışmalar hızlandı. İsim konusunda da Ark adı geçiyor. Daha önce farklı bir isim vardı ama beğenilmedi. Bunlar pozitif haberler. Bir de markaya zarar veren gelişmeler de devam ediyor. Örneğin wifi birliğinden çıkarılması gibi. Şu 90 günlük dönemin en kısa zamanda geçmesini bekliyoruz. Bu arada Samsung ile kıyaslandığında daha iyi gibi duran katlanan telefon Huawei Mate X'in geleceği ne olacak, onu da merak ediyoruz. Benim tarafta Huawei ile deneyimlerim gayet iyi gidiyor. 2 gün önce P30 Pro kullanmaya başladım ve gerçekten çok memnunum. Dizüstü bilgisauar olarak da Huawei MateBook X Pro kullanıyorum. Telefonda aldığım mutlululuğu onda pek alamasam da Windows ortamında da deneyimlerimi paylaşmak için kullanmaya devam edeceğim.
• Çok şaşırdığım bir durum ile karşılaştım geçen. Twitter'da dolandırıcılık içeren paylaşımları görüyorduk. Banka hesapları taklit ediliyordu. Ama geçen sefer daha da ileriye gidilmiş ve devlet taklit edilmiş. Sahte bir e-devlet sitesine yönlendiriliyor ve ceza indirimi için kredi kartı bilgileri isteniyor. Twitter'ın Türkiye operasyonu gerçekten çok kötü yönetiliyor. Ciddi para kazanıyorlar ama bu ülkeye hizmet vermiyorlar. Bu dolandırcılığa onlar izin veriyor. Reklam ödemesi yapıyorlar çünkü. Eğer BTK, önlem almayan Twitter'ı engellerse şaşırmam ve maalesef üzülmem de. Sansüre karşıyım ve fikir özgürlüklerini savunurum ama hırsızlar para veriyor diye insanların ceplerini boşaltan bir platformu da savunacak değiliz.
• Geçtiğimiz günlerde San Francisco'da Google .i/o etkinliğinde bulut tabanlı oyun platformu Google Stadia'yı denemiştim. Bu konu gerçekten önemli. Adamlar, PlayStation'ı kendilerine rakip olarak görüyorlar. Bu konuda bir gelişme var. Google Stadia'da oynanacak oyun isimleri belli olmuş. • Oyunlardan bahsetmişken, ilginç bir haberim var. Oyun bağlılığı, hastalık sayılacak. Dünya Sağlık Örgütü, oyun bağımlılığını resmi bir sınıflandırmaya dahil etmiş. Oyun bağımlılığı hastası bulunan kişilerdeki bu teşhisin doğrulanması için en az 12 ay boyunca kontrol edilecekmiş. • Samsung yeni katlanabilir telefon patenti ile gündeme geldi. Ortaya çıkan patent, yeni katlanabilir telefonun önceki modele göre farklı bir tasarım çizgisine sahip olacağını gösteriyormuş. • Son zamanların en popüler Android telefonlarından biri olan OnePlus 7 Pro çıktı. Diğer telefonlarla kıyaslama videoları da yayınlandı. Ama akıllarda halen soru işaretleri var. En çok da kamerası konuşuluyor. Güncellemelerle daha da iyi hale getirilmeye çalışılıyor. Bizde de kutu açılış ve inceleme videoları yayınlandı. Bir daha bu Android telefonlarla ilgili yüksek beklentiler içine girmeyeceğim.
• İlginç bir araştırma sonucu var. Yapılan araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre öğrencilerin yüzde 71‘lik bir kısmı, bilgisayar tercihlerini Mac yönünde seçiyormuş ama ankete katılan öğrencilerin yalnızca yüzde 40‘lık bir kısmı Mac kullanıyormuş. Apple, neden böyle kullandı diye yaygara var. Adamların emojileri de olay oluyor. • Black mirror'ın yeni sezonu çok iyi geliyor. 3 bölümü de izledim ve dizinin yaratıcıları ile de özel bir röportaj gerçekleştirdim. O nedenle 5 haziranda mutlaka bu içerikleri izleyin (tabii ki Netflix imkanı olanlar)
• Honor lansmanı için Londra'ya davet edilmiştim geçen hafta. 3 yeni model duyuruldu 20 ailesi için. Fiyat bilgisi gelmediği için şimdilik ne desek boş. Hazır oraya gitmişken youtube space'i de gezeyim dedim. Gerçekten büyük zahmet çektirdiler girmek için. Başvurmanız gerekiyor önce online. Kanalınızın güçlü olması lazım, telif yememiş olmalısınız, eğitim videolarını izlemelisiniz ve içeriden bir onay almalısınız. Hepsinş hallettim, girdim ve çok etkilendim. Keşke burda da bir Youtube Space olsa. Ücretli olan seçenekler var ama orda da Youtuber arkadaşlar pek yok sanırım. Zaten her ülkede yok. Los Angeles, Londra,gibi ikon şehirlerde var. İnşallah İstanbul'da da olur.
