Was meinst du dazu? Bessere Meinungsforschung für Menschen mit Behinderung

Was meinst du dazu?

Ed Morrissey: A Word of Warning on Media Manipulation

Ed Morrissey: A Word of Warning on Media Manipulation

Do six in ten Americans really support teaching children below the age of 10 about sexual orientation and “gender identity”? That’s what ABC News and Ipsos want readers to believe from its latest polling, but their methodology exposes this as yet another a media narrative stunt.

By their own admission, the poll oversamples LGBTQ respondents in its too-small number of adults rather than registered voters. It appears that ABC and Ipsos polled specifically where they could expect opposition to be strongest—in selected urban areas—as a means to rebuke Florida governor Ron DeSantis.

DeSantis will sign a bill that prohibits instruction on sexual orientation before the fourth grade, keeping sex-education efforts focused instead on basic human biology.

DeSantis appears to have a better sense of parental opinion in Florida than ABC would like you to believe. We all need to watch carefully as media companies cook up surveys—like this one—in order to push a narrative rather than measure public opinion.

Gazing Through Canada's Crystal Ball 2019

Gazing Through Canada's Crystal Ball 2019

    PUBLISHED: 01/11/2019

Today on the Unpublished Cafe podcast: As the calendar turns to 2019, Canadians are looking down the road to see what is coming over the horizon. For some Canadians, the view is a little foreboding. While the pundits and pollsters have a different view as to what 2019 will bring, the one common thread through their work is that Canadians are probably the most cynical they've ever been.

While 2018 gave us tariffs, Trans Mountain and late night Twitter tirades of Trump, 2019 is shaping up to be an even nastier version of last year. As we start to navigate through 2019, here on the Unpublished Cafe, we are looking ahead at the benchmarks facing this country....and in an election year at that.

It is safe to say the federal election appears to be the defining moment of 2019. But there's plenty of racetrack left before the polls on October 21st.
