Day 211: Called by Name (2023)

Day 211: Called by Name (2023)
Fr. Mike emphasizes our title as children of God as we read about the tragedy of the Babylonian exile. Even in our lowest moments, God wants us to know that he has called us each by name and has called us his, because a good Father does not abandon his children. Today's readings are Isaiah 43-44, Ezekiel 4-5, and Proverbs 12:5-8. For the complete reading plan, visit ascensionpress.com/bibleinayear. 122. Things I Didn't Know

    122. Things I Didn't Know

Maybe it's a good thing that we don't know a lot about the lives we've affected or influenced. But when you find out that a young person started their faith journey simply because you were part of a team of Jesus People mis-fits back in the 70s, it can be quite humbling.

This episode reflects how even the work of Dr. Seuss and "Green Eggs and Ham" can challenge the Christian into breaking out of their norm. Things that maybe you didn't know, like, "do green eggs and ham really taste good?" Possibly, according to Sam-I-Am. We don't know until we try them.

Be challenged today, according to Isaiah 43, "Do not remember the former things, or consider the things of old. I am about to do a new thing.."

And back in 1974, Sue Duffield had no idea and didn't know how her life would make an impact. There are just some things you don't know about that new thing.

    Lectio Divina: Do Not Fear

    Lectio Divina: Do Not Fear
This is a meditation with Isaiah 43:1-7

When you pass through waters, I will be with you.

And when you pass through rivers, they will not sweep over you.

When you walk through fire, you will not be burned.

The flames will not set you ablaze.

As always, I wish you every blessing as you pray with this meditation.

Contemplative at Home offers guided meditative prayer - space to slow down and listen to the truth that is being born out of God's love for you today - drawing on Ignatian spirituality and at times, Lectio Divina.

    Isaiah 43

    Isaiah 43

    Isaiah 43:1-2, 7, 10, 18-20, 26 NKJV

1 But now, thus says the LORD, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called [you] by your name; You [are] Mine. 2 When you pass through the waters, I [will be] with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you. ... 7 Everyone who is called by My name, Whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him." ... 10 "You [are] My witnesses," says the LORD, "And My servant whom I have chosen, That you may know and believe Me, And understand that I [am] He. Before Me there was no God formed, Nor shall there be after Me. ... 18 "Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. 19 Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness [And] rivers in the desert. 20 The beast of the field will honor Me, The jackals and the ostriches, Because I give waters in the wilderness [And] rivers in the desert, To give drink to My people, My chosen. ... 26 Put Me in remembrance; Let us contend together; State your [case], that you may be acquitted.

This chapter of Isaiah makes a few things abundantly clear:

    1.         God calls us by our names

    2.        We are redeemed so we don’t have to be afraid of anything

    3.        The river and the fire- though they come, will not over take us or consume us.

    4.        God wants us so close to Him that we are open to and recognize when He is doing a new thing and to identify that new thing He is doing

    5.        God wants to acquit us because Jesus became our payment for wrong done

    IMITATING TO EXPOSE THE UNDERWORLD

    IMITATING TO EXPOSE THE UNDERWORLD
Feb 2, 2010 - In this hot of the press Audio Podcast, Scott explains the true Scriptural meaning of imitating God per the command of Ephesians 5. It is not the watered down love walk message we hear from the weak apologists in many pulpits today, but rather it is the discipline of exposing the sophistries of darkness from the underworld. This exposure is now happening in Israel with the many drug lords, mafia godfathers, and terror masterminds being apprehended after spiritual drive-by’s having been initiated by this ministry. The Holy Spirit is very well pleased with these offensive light based operations and this podcast will help you achieve victory over the underworld in your sectors of responsibility!

Enjoy this audio podcast and may His word shake and bake you in the ground zero of His glory zone! It is time to shed the old and once again metamorphosize into being people of the windward realm!

The Ancient River Of Isaiah Is In Flood Stage!

The Ancient River Of Isaiah Is In Flood Stage!
Jan 22, 2010 - An audio podcast this to help explain the Scriptural precedent of why God uses the desert environs of Israel to signal to His chosen people the new thing He is doing in the earth. Don’t get caught up in all the presumptuous speculation out there in the media or mystical prophetic crowd…instead look directly in the Scriptures to the precedent He has placed in the desert environs of the Promised Land! Enjoy this audio podcast and let it be kerosene for your spiritual fire to pick up the pace in this final race for lost souls!!!
