TITLE VERSUS TITLE: Fortress (1985) vs. Fortress (1992)

TITLE VERSUS TITLE: Fortress (1985) vs. Fortress (1992)

Forget about any other movie that might share this title! The battle for supremacy is right here, right now. First up, Rachel Ward and her one-room Australian schoolhouse are invaded by masked kidnappers. Can the schoolchildren come of age, all too quickly, in a struggle for survival to escape? Rural Australia is a dangerous place in Fortress (1985). Then, it's time for international action sensation, Christopher Lambert! He and his wife are not particularly fortunate to be pregnant, it seems, as they find themselves in a futuristic prison in the year 2017! Be careful to avoid that yellow line and definitely stay away from the red! Or your tummy might just explode from the effects of that horrible intestinator that they implanted inside your body! Wait, what? This is the world of Stuart Gordon's Fortress (1992). And then from there, the Common Craig and Nicole decide the victor! Which is the last movie standing, earning the right to keep its title???

    156. From Beyond (1986)

    156. From Beyond (1986)

Once upon a time, we started this podcast by reviewing Re-Animator because in it Stuart Gordon set a mood that we try to carry throughout the overall feel of this show. Although we have touched on his work since, Mr. Gordon's passing has the boys wanting to pay tribute the best way they know how, and that's to return to his cult classics and take on From Beyond! Jeffrey Combs and Barbara Crampton return, as well as the Lovecraftian inspiration, so you can probably guess if the Squirms like it or not, but listen in to hear all they have to say and send off a true horror master, Stuart Gordon!

Episode 55: Jeffrey Combs / Barbara Crampton

Episode 55: Jeffrey Combs / Barbara Crampton
For the first of a new GBW series, we've gathered together a duo of actors who we think are worth talking about.

Most known for their work in 1985's Re-Animator, we look at the careers and highlights of cult actors Jeffrey Combs and Barbara Crampton. We talk about our love of Combs' ability to own craziness, Chris' proclamation that Crampton is one of his favourite 80's "sex symbols", and how they both managed to work together multiple times and star in many memorable horror and b-movies along the way.

First up, we talk all about what we've been watching, as Josh's VHS adventure takes him to Africa, we head back to Sleepaway Camp, there's a whole slew of evil kids lurking in a cornfield, Josh finally gets to revisit I, The Jury, and much more!

Thanks for listening! Be sure to head to iTunes to subscribe and drop us a five star rating/review - every little bit helps!
