Are You Forcing the Timing of Your Life?

Are You Forcing the Timing of Your Life?

    Show Notes:
The timing of our lives often doesn’t go as we planned. We make plans, create strategies and feel in control of how our lives are gonna go, but often it turns out differently. On the other hand, sometimes our lives turn out exactly as we planned them, but it took more struggle & push to get there and we realize that it wasn’t really worth it. We aren’t as happy as we thought we would be. Regardless, it all boils down to the desire to be in control of the timing of our lives.

We can’t TRULY be in control of when everything happens. It might FEEL like you can because it has happened in the past, but it’s because the Lord allowed it.

We often don’t trust the timing of our lives when anxiety is in play. The desire for control can develop from traumatic events, negative experiences, or even just moments that impacted how others felt about us or how we feel about ourselves.

Here are 5 reasons you should trust the timing of your life & no longer try to force things to happen:

    1. You’ll Minimize Stress & Anxiety
      1. Jesus tells us to not be anxious about anything and to seek the Lord in everything & remember
      2. Matthew 6:34, “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” (read the entire section of Matthew 6:25-34 for a full breakdown)
    2. You’ll Enjoy Living in the Present Moment More
      1. We mustn’t disregard what is happening right now for what we want to happen in the future. Right now, these are the moments that lead to those future things and we MUST enjoy them. We MUST live today for today and tomorrow for tomorrow. We HAVE to live life fully, which means taking each day as a gift as we work towards more in the future.
      2. Philippians 4:11-13, “Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little.”
    3. God’s Timing & Plan For Our Lives is Perfect
      1. God knows what is best for us.
      2. Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”
    4. Patience & Perseverance Are Incredible Skills
      1. Everything we go through shapes our character and helps us become the person we’re meant to be.
      2. Romans 5:3-4, “We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.”
    5. There is a Season for Everything
      1. Ecclesiastes 3:1, “For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.”
      2. Ecclesiastes 3:11-12, “Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end. So I concluded there is nothing better than to be happy and enjoy ourselves as long as we can.”

    Hanaya: I'm a Jesus freak

    Hanaya: I'm a Jesus freak

Do people call you names or say things about you because you are 'overly' passionate about Jesus and can't stop talking about Him?

Hanaya rocks it out as she contemplates what some people say to her. She doesn't care, for her, it's an honor.

Whoever is ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed when He comes in His glory and the glory of the Father and of the Holy angels.
    — Luke 9:26

When the whole world is running towards the edge of a cliff, he who runs in the opposite direction seems to have lost his mind.
    — C.S. Lewis

    Music We Listened To

The QBs are considering firing their producer as episode 13 is by far their longest yet. There was a lot to talk about as they took on the topic of music in the 90s. Since they were raised on Christian Contemporary Music, you will hear DC Talk mentioned quite  a few times. Towards the end of the episode, Steve pulls out all the  stops to make sure Tyler loses his newest surprise game.
