L'été est derrière nous depuis quelques semaines dans la métropole française, mais pour réchauffer les coeurs, on va de nouveau parler d'un buddy movie, mais cette fois, qui se passe sous la chaleur floridienne (et des flingues), et qui est, surtout, un très bon film : Bad Boys, première réalisation cinématographique de Michael Bay en 1995, avec Martin Lawrence, Will Smith, Tcheky Karyo, et Tea Leoni.

It's face ON as NostalgiaCast '90s Palooza continues with a fond look back at FACE/OFF, directed by Hong Kong action maestro John Woo and starring John Cage and Nicolas Travolta! Film critic Sara Michelle Fetters joins Jonny and Darin to discuss the spectacular two-gun gunplay and deeper emotional underpinnings of Woo's finest American film. Let those doves fly and get ready for the big ride, baby!

This episode we begin a festival about the one and only Nicholas Cage. The 90's were his heyday and we begin the festival with John Woo's duality tale of a FBI agent bent on revenge against one of the city's biggest criminals Caster Troy and his gang of misfits. After 50+ episodes the irreplaceable Men of Action are finally given a mission they cannot accept. That mission? Not discussing Chow Yun-fat's 1998 Hollywood debut The Replacement Killers. Not discussing this movie is a line the Andrew Crupi and Graham Self refuse to cross. Consequences be danged!

During “The Summer of Cage,” movie audiences were treated to not one, but two blockbuster action films starring Nicholas Kim Coppola, aka “Nicolas Cage.” Fresh off of Cage’s Oscar win for his performance in Leaving Las Vegas and the success of The Rock the previous year, both Con Air and Face/Off premiered in theaters in June of 1997.

To celebrate the agony and the ecstasy of both films, Karen and Janet are joined this week by filmmakers, Nicole Witte Solomon and Sean Mannion. Come and partake with them in Guilt Free Features’ first ever CageFest!
