#12 Ivana Novoselac: Mum fatale. Lippenstift statt Spucktuch

#12 Ivana Novoselac: Mum fatale. Lippenstift statt Spucktuch

Winter, Sommer, egal.

    "Dusty Pink" (w/ Harvey Guillén)

What WE do in the shadows? We TALK to amazing people like Harvey Guillén, who joins Matt & Bowen on this terrific episode of Las Cultch to get into it on poppers culture, celebs being "on the A-list", the Met Gala and how Harvey celebrated but also lightly stuck it to Mr. Lagerfeld, Drag Race guest judging, Sasha Colby, shooting and auditioning for What We Do In The Shadows, Toronto cultures, rude men in fedoras, and navigating homophobia. Also, how Titanic and Kate Winslet gave way to Harvey's culture that made him say culture was for him: Peter Jackson, and the film Heavenly Creatures starring Kate and finalist Melanie Lynskey. All this, the origin of the middle finger, auditioning with Jerri Blank monologues, doing Wicked in Osaka, Japan, Hilary Duff's music, when you can really call yourself a New Yorker and the idea of wanting to smell like Johnny Depp.

What Really Led To The Karl Stefanovic And Michael Clarke Fight

    On the show today….

The famous co-chairs for this year’s Met Gala have been announced and with the announcement comes a renewed wave of backlash against this year’s theme. Here’s what you need to know.

Plus, Gwen Stefani is back in the headlines this week following a wave of backlash thanks to her viral Allure interview from earlier this month. Now it appears she’s been banned from a series of high-profile magazine outlets going forward and we need to talk about why.

And it’s the public fight everyone is talking about today. Karl Stefanovic and Michael Clarke have been caught on camera having a showdown and now we need to get into what led to the argument, the conspiracy theories surrounding it, and what the real fallout will be.

    Ep. 21: The Muse-ical

    Ep. 21: The Muse-ical

In this episode, prompted by Julia Fox's vocal fry soundbite heard around the world, we question what it really means to be a muse. We reflect on the concept's history – recurring characters include toxic gay besties, troubled aristocrat party-girls, and poetic simps of the 19th century – and ponder the future of creative relationships and divine inspiration.

Shelley Sullivan: The Woman Behind The World's First Tan In A Can

Shelley Sullivan: The Woman Behind The World's First Tan In A Can

Shelley Sullivan is a serial entrepreneur. Long before she founded ModelCo and MCoBeauty, Shelley owned a modelling agency, it was here she found her vision for ModelCo.

When models were coming into Shelley's office with orange hands from fake tanning, she knew there had to be an easier, and cheaper option. So she made Tan Airbrush, the world's first tan in a can.

Today that tan is believed to be sold every 36 seconds.

It's no coincidence that ModelCo has been kicking goals for twenty years. They've been innovating products, understanding their consumer and collaborating with the likes of Hayley Bieber, Elle Macpherson and Karl Lagerfeld, they've even had Celeste Barber come on board as an ambassador.

So what are Shelley's best-kept secrets for anyone wanting to succeed in business? And if she could go back in time, would she change anything?

    Julian Williams

    Julian Williams

It's a new month, and I am beyond excited to share with you my interview with Julian Williams. He may be young in age, but his impressive body of work rivals those of designers with years more experience. We talked a few months after he completed work on the Biden for American campaign as their lead opposition brand designer. Pretty cool!

We spoke about how he landed on the campaign, and Julian shared the differences between working with clients in the U.S. versus clients in Europe. From there, Julian took me through his history as a designer, including working for fashion designers Tommy Hilfiger and Karl Lagerfeld, a stint as an intern at &Walsh, and being a designer at Nike while in The Netherlands. Julian also shared how his passion for voguing and the ballroom scene helps influence his work, and he gives some great advice for graphic designers out there looking to find their own style. Julian's motto is about making good work with good people -- something we can all take to heart!
