    Episode Introduction

Welcome to another episode of the Redefining Society podcast with Marco Ciappelli. Today's guest is Dr. Robert Pearl, a professor at Stanford and former CEO at Kaiser Permanente. The topic of discussion is ChatGPT, a technology that has recently made waves in the healthcare industry. Dr. Pearl explains that ChatGPT is a generative pre-trained transformer, which means that it has access to vast amounts of pre-loaded information and can apply it to generate the next word or idea. He compares it to what doctors do when they learn a lot of facts and generate a diagnosis and treatment plan for their patients.

Marco and Dr. Pearl discuss the potential applications of ChatGPT in healthcare and how it can help doctors find diagnoses they might have missed otherwise. While it's still in its early stages, ChatGPT has shown promise in improving patient care by allowing doctors to double-check their thinking and find the most problematic complications that could arise.

The conversation also touches on the challenges of adopting new technologies in the medical profession. Dr. Pearl notes that while it's important to embrace new technologies, blindly following them is not the solution. He highlights the importance of doctors maintaining their expertise and knowledge while using new technologies to supplement their work.

As the conversation continues, the possibilities of ChatGPT become more apparent. Medical knowledge doubles every 73 days, and it's difficult for any human to keep up with that pace. ChatGPT, on the other hand, has the potential to become exponentially more powerful with each passing year, meaning that the tool doctors and patients will have in a decade or two will be significantly more advanced than what we have today.

If you're interested in learning more about ChatGPT and its potential applications in healthcare, then this is the podcast for you. Don't forget to share and subscribe to Redefining Society to keep up with the latest trends in technology and society.

    NO. 34 -- SEAN O'BRIEN | Headtop Performance

    NO. 34 -- SEAN O'BRIEN | Headtop Performance

Sean O'Brien is proud of his Dixon roots. The small-town success is the founder of Headtop Performance. The Duke Graduate is also partnered with Top 50 Speaker Ben Newman with O'Brien's newest adventure called Uncommon Coaching. Here is a guy that went from Dixon to Duke. How he got there is one thing. What he learned along the way is the fun part of today's conversation. And now he is a top-rated Performance Coach that is directing individuals and big companies towards BIG success!

In today's episode of Experience the Buzz, Host Steve Buzzard sits down with O'Brien to discuss his journey"I knew right away that this was going to be a fun conversation. Sean has a great journey to share with all of us. It's a great representation of what being an entrepreneur is all about.  Our conversation hits THREE areas:

    •  Segment ONE 💥  introduces us to Headtop Performance. O'Brien describes what being a Performance Coach is and what people and groups that can use the coaching. Sean discusses life during Covid along some other tidbits in the Performance Coaching world 🌍.
    • Segment TWO 💥 is centered around Sean's upbringing in Dixon. We talk baseball. We talk playing ONE sport vs. ALL sports. We get the inside story on his dream college Stanford turning into a trip and college career at Duke. O'Brien discusses transition from athlete to student and his move from Dixon to Duke. We finish up the segment with O'Brien's first job out of college at Stryker.
    • Segment THREE 💥 starts with Sean's meeting with Ben Newman (look him up). What is the difference between the New Sean and Old Sean. We get introduced to Sean's newest adventure at Uncommon Coaching. We find out what's on the horizon for O'Brien. And we finish in style with Rapid Fire 💥

Here are my favorite HIGHLIGHTS  ...
▪️1. His meeting with Ben Newman. Pretty cool how it happened and then what it developed into. I LOVE encounters like this because it goes to show you that you never know what will be the result of our daily encounters with people.
▪️2. The Stanford to Duke story. Pretty amazing to be feeling one way at one point and then to have your world flipped upside down. The good news is that things worked out exactly as they should have.
▪️3. Sean's admission of the busy life leading to 'burn out.' Sean realized he needed balance and made the adjustment toward making that happen.

Our Connection | Sean was introduced to me by a friend named Mike Gutterman. He simply told me, "You have to have Sean on your podcast." That was enough for me and we booked the conversation a week later.

Newtons Nuggets - Raw and emotional with Chris Dawes, Return of the Legend (contains swearing)

There's no two ways to say this, the Chris Dawes interview was the most popular podcast that we have done so far. That said, we got in a bit of trouble - because we tried to get Chris to not swear on the show; which he did really well with and we only had to put a few beeps in. The following week we then had Brad Burton on the show and there was so much swearing we just did a warning and let him get on with it!

So this time Chris is back, and WE HAVE NOT CENSORED HIM - BAD LANGUAGE WARNING! But more importantly, in the 6 months since we have had him on the show, Chris Dawes has been on an emotional rollercoaster, with love, loss and plenty of reflection.

This episode is a real tour de force and despite asking for one nugget, there are tonnes of helpful lessons in here. In this episode we talk about work life balance, our understanding of being successful, tv quiz shows, keynote speaking and so much more! Check out Scruffy Monkey on https://www.scruffymonkey.co.uk

Damon West-Best Selling Author/Former D1 QB Sentenced to Life in Prison

Damon West-Best Selling Author/Former D1 QB Sentenced to Life in Prison

We begin this show by becoming aware of the date and how long Damon has been clean. We then dive into Damon as a child athlete and the sexual abuse at age 9 from a babysitter and what this led to. We discuss being under the Friday Night Lights in 5A of Texas football. Damon had the very rare opportunity to be on the sidelines of the Dallas Cowboys with Coach Jimmy Johnson and how this door was open.

Being a D1 college QB at North Texas U,  the injures that cut his career short and what path that led him to. Damon was working with US Congress, Wall St, and on a US Presidential Campaign before being introduced to meth. How fast he became an addict. Being known as The Uptown Burglar-how long this was going on until July 30, 2008.

We get the in-depth explanation of how that day unfolded, the 10 months being in the county jail, the gasp from his Mother when he was sentenced to what she said to him before he was taken to a Texas Maximum Prison. The process of getting himself off drugs, being an inmate for the first few days, and living in Texas Prison with no air conditioning.

Listen to this excellent advice Damon received from Mr. Jackson at the county jail and what the lessons are of The Coffee Bean. (Get a pen and paper ready). After being paroled he explains what the call to action is and how racism needs to be addressed. (Please give this your undivided attention!) Damon ends the show with how he was able to go back and speak to the inmates at Stiles Prison.
