Kim Petras on 'The Julia Show'

Kim Petras on 'The Julia Show'

Julia was able to chat with the iconic Grammy Award-winning international pop sensation and critically acclaimed songwriter Kim Petras following the release of her highly anticipated debut album Feed The Beast.

Not only is Kim Petras an exceptional performer which has been proven by her achievements in music, but she is also a representative and advocate for the LGBTQ+ community.

During this conversation, Julia and Kim discussed details related to her upcoming tour, her icon moments thus far such as coming out of Sam Smith's Dress on the SNL stage, her tendencies as a "shy person" while still being the electric performer she is, and so much more.

Although she grew up in Germany and came to the U.S. when she was 19, Julia and she bridged the gap in their upbringing by discussing their favorite nostalgic moments as millennials such as Myspace, their favorite phones growing up, and the emo fashion taste that they both had.

Check out the entire conversation above.

    Grammys, Debauchery, Culture Wars

    Grammys, Debauchery, Culture Wars

The Grammy Awards are the music industry’s annual recognition of outstanding achievements in the music arts - and with increasing regularity, utterly prurient, immoral presentations. This happened most recently in the 2023 and 2021 awards shows. It's not that these "artists" should have their First Amendment freedoms curtailed. It is, though, worth considering what is appropriate for public, mass communications over primetime television. There once were decency standards. No more. And pundits to argue the Culture Wars are an invention of Puritans and prudes say more about themselves--they have little or no moral foundation--than they do the conservatives or Christians they typically attack. We are indeed in a culture war. In fact, as we've argued before on this podcast, we're in a Worldview Civil War. Don't give in and don't give up. Speak the truth with love. Der Bergdoktor ist sehr potent! (feat. Marios Mutter)

Der Bergdoktor ist sehr potent! (feat. Marios Mutter)
Also ein Bild davon.
Bei „DSDS“ zeigt Dieter Bohlen allen mal so richtig, was ein alter, weißer Mann und Katja was eine Bad Bitch ist. Leudde…
Davor gabs noch eine Schock-Nachricht für Witta. Ihr Endfeind sind ja die Blattläuse – kann aber sein, dass sie die seit Jahren schon verspeist. Und ihr auch! Wir erklären Euch was, wie und warum!

The 65th Grammy Awards: A Celebration of Music, Fans, and History with Harry Styles and Kim Petras

The 65th Grammy Awards: A Celebration of Music, Fans, and History with Harry Styles and Kim Petras

The 65th Grammy Awards saw Harry Styles take home the award for "Album of the Year" for his record "Harry's House". The biggest winner of the night, however, might have been Reina, a 78-year-old Canadian great-grandmother, who got the opportunity to announce the award and hand Harry the trophy. The Grammys invited a group of fans to come on stage to advocate for their favorite artists, and Reina was the one chosen to announce Harry's win. In his acceptance speech, Harry thanked his fans and collaborators. On the other hand, German-born pop singer Kim Petras made Grammys history by becoming the first transgender woman to win the award for best pop duo/group performance. Kim's win was a historic moment not just for her but also for the transgender community. Finally, Viola Davis joined the EGOT club by winning her first Grammy.

Armie Hammer’s Viral Interview Is Missing The Real Story

Armie Hammer’s Viral Interview Is Missing The Real Story

    On the show today…

The Grammys took place today so now we need to break down the wildest red carpet looks and yes, there is a clear winner when it comes to the best-dressed star.

In his memoir Spare, Prince Harry sensationally detailed how he lost his virginity (behind a pub with a bit of rump smacking, in case you forgot) but never named the woman. Now the lady in question has come forward with her side of the story, but we have some questions about her motivation.

And Armie Hammer has given his first ‘tell all’ interview following a series of allegations against him that caused him to be dropped from all upcoming film roles. In the interview, Armie talks about his BDSM history and the way Hollywood turned against him, yet his explanations for what happened, and the cancelation talk around him, have missed the real story.

The Taylor Swift Conversation We Never Wanted To Have

The Taylor Swift Conversation We Never Wanted To Have

    On the show today…

Prince Harry's controversial new memoir is now slated to be released early next year, according to a report from The New York Times. The book was initially delayed due to the death of Queen Elizabeth, but now the story around the royal family’s reaction appears to have changed.

Plus, Kim Petras has become the first out trans artist to hit number one on Billboard Hot 100 with her hit song Unholy. So now we need to talk about Kim Petras’ rise to fame, the importance of her Coconuts song, and why she’s unfortunately about to be knocked off the charts.

And Taylor Swift has removed a scene from her Anti-Hero music video after her use of the word ‘fat’ sparked allegations that she was being fatphobic. But the conversation is nowhere near that simple. There are two very different sides to the debate around Taylor Swift and her use of the word fat, and thanks to the scene being cut, it’s led us to a conversation we never wanted to have.

"Being Gay Is A Complicated Job" (w/ Ryan O'Connell)

Uh... Stunning Talent On The Pod Alert! Ryan O'Connell joins the women of Las Cultch ahead of the release of both his debut novel Just By Looking At Him (out June 7th) and Peacock's Queer As Folk, on which he writes and also stars (out June 9th)! The three discuss their origins as snarky internet gays, splurging on ridiculous rideshares, working with Kim Cattrall (who plays Ryan's mom on QAF.... gag), horny photo shoots, how Kim Petras commands gays with her voice, relationships to the original Queer As Folk, and living on the same street where they filmed Erin Brockovich (the part where she's poor and amongst cockroaches). Also, thoughts on this season's RHOBH, how being a reality star alters the psyche, Gregg Araki, the goddess Parker Posey, and formative indie films of the 90's. Would YOU give your dog a human's name? What would it be? Think about that while you press PLAY on this episode... of LAS CULTURISTAS.
