    GMoLS5E25 Evaluation with Donald Clark

    GMoLS5E25 Evaluation with Donald Clark
In this episode, the first of a new season, we look at a group of thinkers who have focused on how we should evaluate the impact of the learning. Beginning with Donald L Kirkpatrick in the 1950s, they have given us models of how to measure and evaluate it. However, for all the work that has gone into this area, the general perception has long been that organisations simply do not evaluate anything like enough. There are indications, however, that this picture is changing, and interest in evaluation is on the up. With the advent of powerful new AI tools, could we be on the brink of a breakthrough?

    Episode 112 - Smallfoot (1:05:12)
The noble lie for the greater good. The all-purpose excuse for tyranny the world over. Is it better to live in a blissful ignorance, protected and coddled your entire lives; or is it better to be aware of the dangers and the opportunities available to you so you can make your own choices?

We discuss these topics and many more as we are joined by Rocky Ferrenburg for a dissection of the abominable snowman animated feature film flick, Smallfoot.

You can visit Rocky's website at http://www.rockyferrenburg.com

Join us next week for some more Tom Cruise-action as we tackle Collateral.

Robert and I analyze popular movies from a Rothbardian/Anarcho-Capitalist perspective.

We use movies as a starting point for people who may not be familiar with this way of thinking.   Discussion of the plot and decisions that characters make in relation to morality and violations of the non-aggression principle are our bread and butter.

We also will highlight and discuss any themes or lessons from Austrian Economics that we can glean from the film.

The point is to show what anarchy actually is with instances that are presented in film.

We publish at least once per week; and occasionally will do specials surrounding holidays or events (elections/olympics) and have guests.

You Can Overcome - Cancer Survivorship Journey

You Can Overcome - Cancer Survivorship Journey

Glen and Debbie Kirkpatrick's story shows both sides of survivorship.  When someone is battling cancer they are not alone in that journey.  Their partner suffers as well.

Glen and Debbie share the heart-wrenching story and ultimate victory over this terrible disease.  Glen is a three-time, 31-year cancer survivor living with late effects of radiation and chemotherapy.  He shares how to find joy, how to persevere and the significance of living in the moment.

Overcome is an incredible story of repeated crushing news and events answered with despair then courage, perseverance, fight, more despair, friendship sacrifice, faith, hope, but most of all love.

Overcome illustrates the personal anguish of cancer diagnosis, treatments, and unexpected effects of treatments that can occur later in life – something not often talked or written about. The author also shows what family members and caregivers might experience during these challenges.

Overcome demonstrates that living with chronic illness is a physical, psychological and spiritual battle.

Glen and Debbie Kirkpatrick's interview will encourage you and give you strength to overcome any tragedy you may encounter.

On this weeks show, Fisher shares the news of two new podcast apps now available free in your Android or iPhone store.  Twin sisters have reunited after 78 of separation.  We’ll have the happy story for you.  Letters written from the European Theater in the heat of battle in World War II have been found in a storage locker and returned to the man’s son.  Hear how it all came about.  Fisher also gets a family history story out of Charles Fleischer, the voice of Roger Rabbit.  You won’t believe this guy’s background!

Kathy Kirkpatrick of gentracer.com and Adrian Benjamin Burke, a New York researcher, talk about what’s happening in Italian ancestry research in 2014, with some great stories from the trail.  And, you’ll meet Hyrum Veach… expert genealogist… when he’s not in elementary school!  Hear what this 12-year-old has to say.  (He’s already been at it for five years!)

Preservation Authority Tom Perry has filled you in on disks the last few weeks… now… what’s the best format your needs?  He’ll tell you.  And Fisher tells you the breathtaking story he uncovered of a man he knew as a boy… a friend of his parents… who served in counter-intelligence in World War II.
