The first episode of Season 2 has the ladies talking a newer movie. Meg can't seem to talk and Ang is obsessed with Samantha.

Frozen II è un film del 2019, prodotto da Walt Disney e diretto da Chris Buck e Jennifer Lee. Sta avendo un grandissimo successo ed ha alzato di molto il record di incasso all'apertura per i film d'animazione. È già stato nominato per 8 Annie Awards e 2 Golden Globe.

La storia risponde a certe domande che erano state lasciate aperte nel primo Frozen: perchè Elsa ha i poteri? e Anna no? Dove stavano andando i genitori? Infatti, il film si apre con un flashback in cui il Re racconta alle due figlie della foresta incantata. Lì si era verificato un combattimento tra suo padre e la tribù di Northuldra che aveva fatto infuriare gli spiriti tanto da intrappolare tutti al suo interno con un muro di nebbia. Nel presente la situazione ad Arendelle è tranquilla, se non che Elsa ode una voce, un canto proveniente da lontano. Una sera seguendo il suo instinto e la Voce, risveglia per sbaglio gli spiriti della foresta, che costringono gli abitanti di Arendelle a scappare. Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Olaf e Sven partono quindi alla volta della foresta incantata per scoprire il segreto che cela e riportare la pace nel fiordo.

Un sequel all'altezza del primo capitolo che riesce a riprenderne gli elementi più magici, farli evolvere e ricombinarli per dare vita ad un film spettacolare, dai forti toni drammatici addolciti da momenti di umorismo. L'impatto visivo è straordinario, reso possibile da un mix di fotografia, layout, effetti speciali e grafici. La colonna sonora e le canzoni sono stupende e non mancheranno di risuonarvi nella testa per qualche settimana. Infine il messaggio di scoperta profonda di se stessi, seguendo il proprio istinto e avendo fiducia in chi si è, viene portato avanti magistralmente sia da Anna, sia da Elsa; entrambe con due brani cantati ("Show Yourself" e "The Next Right Thing") che danno la pelle d'oca.

L'adaptation de contes de fées en films d'animation est l'une des spécialités des Studios Disney depuis les années 1920 avec Alice Comedies en passant par Blanche Neige et les Sept Nains, Cendrillon, Raiponce... Si Walt Disney en personne pensait à adapter La Reine des Neiges, le conte écrit par le Danois Hans Christian Andersen, il a fallu pourtant attendre 2013 pour que La Reine Elsa, version Disney, enflamme le public.
Comment le projet a-t-il évolué durant toutes ces années ? Comment l'écriture de la chanson Libérée, Délivrée a-t-elle changé le scénario ? Comment le succès du film s'est-il propagé au point de devenir un incontournable du septième art et au-delà, un véritable phénomène de société ? Avec plus d'un milliard de dollars de recettes au box-office mondial et un immense succès tant critique que commercial, La Reine des Neiges est depuis largement devenu un marqueur dans l'histoire même des studios Disney.

Dans ce nouvel épisode, Franck, Fred, Guillaume, Léo, Thibaut, Victoire et Samantha  (Euh... Samantha ?) reviennent donc sur la création du premier opus mais aussi du musical monté à Broadway,  des nouvelles animations à Disneyland Paris et dans chaque Parc Disney du monde, des courts et moyens-métrages sans oublier le special LEGO. Ils s'attardent bien sûr longuement sur la suite, La Reine des Neiges II, sortie six ans plus tard, en novembre 2019, et dont la légitimité a longtemps fait débat mais qui est parvenue, contre toute attente et presque instantanément à conquérir, elle aussi, le cœur du public.
