S3 E3 Talking Amalfi Coast & Capri with Italian Tour Guide Rosa Candela
If I could return to only one European area and stay awhile, it would be Italy's Amalfi Coast. I met Rosa Candela on my birthday last March (2021) at her online Airbnb experience: https://www.airbnb.it/experiences/1508893
My friend, Sally, who gave me this gift, joined us from Virginia. Rosa shared her family recipe and technique for making limoncello--truly the hit of the summer with my family. In late May she joined me for this episode from her Salerno terrace overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. Here she takes us on the Path of the Gods and beyond, tells us must-eats and must-sees on the coast and Capri, and invites us to join her for real on one of her walking tours.

Aflevering 6: La Dolce Vita - 10 Italiaanse wijnverhalen
Thief's Monthly Movie Loot 36: The April Loot
On Episode 36, I share my thoughts on the latest Oscar ceremony, as well as my thoughts on the best films I saw during the month of April: from dramas in Italy to thrillers in Argentina, from historic epics in England to supernatural scares in Iran, from a thief in France to an alcoholic in Denmark, from street fights in the US to nuclear war in Australia... that is some of what you'll get from this episode. Check it out!

Summer highlights #4 - The centenary year of Federico Fellini
In this special edition of The Screen Show we revisit our celebration of the centenary year of the birth of one of the greatest and most influential filmmakers of all time - Federico Fellini.
8½ by Federico Fellini
The “Cinephile Cuties” are ready to have an existential breakdown during the production of a film! That’s because they’re chatting about Federico Fellini’s 8½. In this episode, Casey and Patrick both get sick and drunk because they are forced to drink a giant “Straw-Ber-Rita” during the recording. In addition to all of that, they put 8½ through their proprietary “Fartsy Test.” Patrick recommends a drink pairing. And they give each other notes to improve the show. Listen in to see if it’s working!

La Dolce Vita (1960)
Jon Negroni makes his long-awaited return to Extra Milestone to investigate Federico Fellini's La Dolce Vita, one of his very favorite films. For 60 years, the film has gained a reputation of being one of the most insightful and layered journeys of World Cinema, and I had a wonderful time learning about its many rich cinematic attributes from Jon. Tune in to hear the two of us break down the film's cinematography, the way it uses the city of Rome to help tell its story, the many exciting chapters that comprise the plot, and more!
NEXT WEEK: To kick off the month of June, I will be joined by my former coworker and very close friend Tyler Chambers to review Monty Python and the Holy Grail and The Blues Brothers, two all-time comedy classics!
MUSIC IN THIS EPISODE: "la dolce vita" by Nino Rota.
