Australia is a majority migrant nation. Increasingly, that migration skews more Asian than European, with more than 50 per cent of the population either born overseas or having a parent who was.

This includes the lauded Australian writer Alice Pung, whose Chinese-Cambodian parents fled the Khmer Rouge. But it's a story replicated across many generations of Australian families, including that of the Matildas' captain Sam Kerr, whose father was born in Kolkata.

But abroad, the contemporary story of Asian Australia is lesser-known. The stereotypes of Australia being an outpost of the Anglosphere still lingers, despite generations of Asian-Australian life. So how is this story best told?

The past few weeks have seen the headlines embroiled in what seems to be an intractable problem — housing. And it's a peculiarly Australian phenomenon.

So why has equitable housing become such a vexed and complex issue for Australia? And what are the steps to take if we actually want to tackle the housing crisis once and for all?

Sports Illustrated's Donnie Druin discussed his expectations for the Pittsburgh Steelers as they begin training camp this week at Heinz Field.

The Pittsburgh native spoke with Mark Bergin and Ike Taylor about what this NFL season is going to look like amid the coronavirus pandemic.

It marks the first time in decades the Steelers won't open training camp at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.

Episode 17 - 

Chris DeRose is currently living in Billings, Montana and working as a reporter with KTVQ and the Montana Television Network. 

Chris started his professional career in Chicago back in 2007. Coming to the Windy City just after college, Chris studied improv and sketch comedy, as well as writing and acting at world famous theaters like The Second City, iO, and Comedy Sportz. He quickly became a staple in the Chicago comedy scene and even help to found the musical improv group Mansical, which still preforms to this day.

It was also during this time, that he was “discovered” while working as a Chicago City Tour Guide onboard a double decker bus. A producer from a local television show spotted Chris and offered him a job on TV. The rest is history. That launched Chris’s career as a daily feature reporter on You & Me, a fun morning television show on WCIU-TV.

During his time at You & Me, Chris logged hundreds of hours both in front of and behind the camera, working on multiple stories at any given time.

 He was best known for his live morning features, ‘Did U Know‘ history pieces, comical man-on-the-street ‘Movie Trivia’s,’ and insightful travel segments. 

At the end of 2016, Chris moved to Los Angeles, California where he freelanced as an actor, writer and producer. While in LA he also worked as an Associate Producer on the Gilbert Gottfried Amazing Colossal Podcast and as a Studio Tour Guide/ VIP Guide at Universal Studios Hollywood.

Chris is a graduate of McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland, and holds a BA in Theater Arts. He was raised in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, a small town just outside of Pittsburgh, which was also home to golf legend Arnold Palmer and television’s Fred Rogers.

Zachary Andrew Turner was murdered by the hands of his mother on August 18, 2003 at the age of 13 months.  She also was responsible for the murder of Zachary’s father, Andrew David Bagby, 1 year 9 months and 14 days earlier.  In this series, we are going to examine the entire timeline from the very beginning to see just how preventable this tragedy should have been, to examine the warning signs that so many people overlooked, and discuss just how fair the justice system should be when it comes to the rights of parents - especially when that parent is actually facing indictment for her child’s father.
