    143. Using Your Gifts - Charisms with Jill Simons

    143. Using Your Gifts - Charisms with Jill Simons

"We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully." -  Romans 12:6-8

This week I sit down with the lovely Jill Simons, founder of Many Parts Ministries, to discuss the importance of understanding our God-given charisms. Jill shares the treasure of recognizing the unique gifts that God has given each of us! It is through  taking delight in who God has created us to be and nurturing our gifts that we can most fruitfully grow His kingdom in our hearts, in our churches, and in our own homes!

From Fixer to Freedom: I will not Attempt to Control Other Peoples Experiences

You've heard it said that control is an illusion, but have you ever explored what your life might look like if you truly surrendered to the flow of the universe? What would our lives look like if we surrendered those we love to the flow of the universe and allowing them to have their own experiences just as they are.  On this episode of Recovery Your Soul, we unlock the transformative power of relinquishing control and turning the attention to our own experiences and healing. When we put our energy into the clear vision we hold for our own lives, we can take our power back as we let go of using our energy to try to change others lives.

Embracing Detachment: The Journey of Letting Go of Adult Children and Getting Unhooked

Embracing Detachment: The Journey of Letting Go of Adult Children and Getting Unhooked

There are books and books about how to raise babies, how to raise toddlers, how to raise teenagers and then, once it gets to them leaving the house and going out and being adults, there aren't a lot of resources about how to let go of your adult kids.

Even when we are doing our work to let them go and live independent lives, we can get easily hooked back into old patterns of codependence and enabling when they hit a difficult patch.  In Soul Recovery we are learning how to be present for them in new and healthy ways, allowing them to have the experience and the learning that comes from it and not getting hooked back into our beliefs that we need to save or do it for them.  We are remembering our own wholeness as we keep the focus on ourselves, our own feelings and experience and releasing our patterns around control and codependency by using detachment and Soul Recovery.

Navigating the Path of Parenthood: Letting Go, Setting Boundaries, and Embracing Soul Recovery

Navigating the Path of Parenthood: Letting Go, Setting Boundaries, and Embracing Soul Recovery

Imagine watching your adult child grapple with life's challenges, knowing you can't swoop in to fix their problems. Sounds tough, right? Well, it is. My husband, Rich, and I have walked this path with our grown sons, and we're here to share our journey of learning when to step back, allowing our children to chart their own course. We look back at our own experiences with alcoholism and how that impacted our parenting, and delve into how personality styles and addiction can shape the family unit.

Will letting go of control lead to chaos or growth? What if we told you it's the latter? We dive into the Love and Logic principles of allowing adult children to make their own choices and experience their own consequences. Our conversation also explores how our own past, beliefs, and addiction patterns can affect our ability to set healthy boundaries.

But wait, there's a light at the end of the tunnel - Soul Recovery. This powerful process can bring peace, happiness, and abundance into our lives and relationships. We discuss how Soul Recovery can break us free from harmful patterns and beliefs, helping us reclaim our power and following a spiritual path to a happy and healthy life.
