On Wednesdays we wear pink and today we infiltrate the Plastics in the 2004 teen classic Mean Girls. How many surprising new facts do we discover about the depth of Randall’s love for this movie? (Hint: it’s A LOT.) Can we just take a moment to recognize that everyone in this cast is bringing their A game? Does the feminist message of this movie stand up to contemporary values? We’ll let you know once we perfect this totally appropriate Jingle Bell Rock routine. Â
Even if you’ve never seen Cloverfield (2008), you probably remember the splash it made when trailers first hit theaters. From the very first teaser, audiences were speculating about exactly what kind of monster movie it might be — and just how many monsters would appear. A decade and a half later, conspiracy theories still abound, but the real question here at Spooky Tuesday is this: Does this found footage flick hold up? On our latest episode, we’re joined by Keep It Weird’s Lauren Ogle as she helps us unpack all those ideas, examine our own issues with the film, and discuss one eeny-weeny tiny-winy essential lil detail that can be missed in the blink of an eye.

What is there even to say about one of the cultural touchstones in early 00s cinema? There is a shared history that we all have with this film and me, Jules, and Mikey had a fucking time talking it. We get into the awesomely classic fashion, our own adolescent tales, and the quotes we use on a REGULAR basis.Â
Enjoy because Mean Girls is a holiday movie and 'tis the season!
