    Raquel take 2

    Raquel take 2

Raquel is this week's Sewover50 podcast guest. Raquel was podcast #2 in 2019 and in this podcast she updates us on her sewing and how she supports the Sewover50 account on Instagram.

Refashions are her joy and she talks to us about how thrifting in Taipei meets her budget needs.

Raquel initially started participating in MAGAM Sewalong when it was run by Sarah Liz. MAGAM Sewalong is another sewing challenge Raquel continues to support each month because this keeps her sewing creativity alive. Raquel is also enjoying being a Minvera Maker now.

Have you been sewing but have no where to show your work? The Australian Sewing Guild (ASG) has a fun October challenge #memademonday

You know #memademay so you'll be able to share (brag) about your sewing - the patterns, fabric, the challenge, your final view about what you've made.

This is really simple and you only need to use #memademonday and #australiansewingguild. There are 4 Mondays in October so this is dead simple to inspire others who are looking for their sewjo. Are you convinced now?

Why not bundle this challenge into other challenges that will be running in October like #magamsewalong? The choice is yours to share.

#magamsewalong for June was all about #jugglingjune...whether it's patterns, prints, styles, projects or even time! Hope you were able to juggle and to join in with Sue Stoney @suestoney , Helene @hportemanteau and Suzy Roberts @sewinginspain in June! You'll know that their monthly challenges can overflow into the next month or two depending on your precious sewing time.

Sewing a garment each month as part of your self care is the aim behind 'Make a garment a month' sewalong.

Make a garment a month or MAGAM, started years ago by SarahLiz, a Newcastle local. SarahLiz @sarahlizsewstyle was running MAGAM on facebook with a large sewing following. After running this solo, it was time to Liz Jane to bow out and this is now run with 3 great supporters from across the globe. Selfish sewing or sewing garments for yourself is the only rule to follow.

    Meet Sue Stoney

You may already be a fan of Sue Stoney through her blog fadanista - for indulging in fads or through her intagram account. Sue has always been on our list of people to chat to and thankfully Sue was able to fit in a chat with Maria over a morning coffee in Sue's home, via Zoom of course.

You may have already met Sue through her travels as she meets fellow sewists and discovers fabric retailers and suppliers.
