#68: The Best Nonprofit In The World - KultureCity

#68: The Best Nonprofit In The World - KultureCity

Today’s guest is Dr. Julian Maha, the Founder of one of the newest and best-reviewed non-profits in the United States, KultureCity. What does it mean exactly to be a best-reviewed non-profit? Every dollar and every experience that KultureCity raises or provides it tracked and directly related to the impact they have on serving their mission. They have already been recognized by Bill Gates and Microsoft as one of the top ten non-profits in the nation and at the time of this recording have impacted over 15,000 lives of those living with autism. Their mission is to help create a world where all individuals with autism and their families can be accepted and treated equally. I’m really excited for you to hear this podcast and challenge you to think while you're listening to Julian speak. What is the difference between sympathy and empathy? Which one do you have for those living with autism? If you can empathize, you can understand what someone with autism is going through because you have direct experience with it. If you can sympathize, you can still feel strongly for an individual and their family living with autism, but might not have direct experience with it. Whichever one you fall into, it is important to feel one of these two towards an individual or family living with autism, as it is truly the best way to live a life of compassion and understanding. Your compassion will help organizations like KultureCity be one step closer to world-wide acceptance of this often invisible disability. I hope you enjoy the show!

    Meaning/Translation
We meditate on the [god] which nourishes and increases the sweet fullness of life. Like a cucumber from its stem may we be separated ("liberated"), not from immortality but from death.
