Why You Need a Career Coach - with Lily Woi - Episode 127

Why You Need a Career Coach - with Lily Woi - Episode 127

Have you ever considered a career coach?

Have you ever wanted support to work towards your goals, an accountability partner, or someone to tell you straight up where you are screwing up?

A coach can help you re-evaluate your style and strategy, help you set boundaries, learn to say no diplomatically, and more...

    Benefits of a career coach:
     - financial reward
     - increased confidence
     - accountability
     - help you change perspective and perception

How are you seeing the world? What you see is based not on truth but on your perception of the world. Do the work, see the results! That's the premise behind having a coach - someone who will help you change your perception and work on the root causes.

The word Mindset seems to be overused at this point, and a career coach will help you figure out what areas your "mindset" needs to change.

Everyone has past trauma that affects their thinking. Usually people just work on the symptoms. A good coach will look past the symptoms to work on the root cause.

So - Why should you get a coach?
    Why now?
Do you spend too much time justifying actions you don't like, decisions you're not happy with?

As coaches we help you make decisions.

My guest, Lily Woi, and I spent this half hour talking all things career coaching, answering the questions up above and many more, demystifying coaching.

Lily is a Career Development Coach, an expert in helping individuals accelerate their career progression. She can be reached at https://lilywoicoaching.com

Make the Decision to Take Action

Make the Decision to Take Action

It's easy to say, "Just make a decision!" "Just take action!" or "Just have faith!" But what does it actually feel like when you are in the moment of making this decision, taking this action, or having faith? What if I tell you...these three things are all intertwined? They feed off one another. The power of making a decision doesn't come from the decision itself. The power comes from deciding to trust yourself, having faith in God (or the universe or whatever you believe), and to taking action to achieve your goal!

If your decisions are guided by faith and you work towards making them happen, you can achieve anything in life. In this episode of Decide It’s Your Turn™, Christina talks about the power of decision and how decision, faith, and action are the things you need to change your life and start moving forward. Stay tuned!

In this episode, you will learn:

    • Why making a decision is important for your growth
    • How to show up once a decision has been made
    • Actions you can start taking to reach your goals
    • How to decide it’s your turn in life

Network better: How we process information and make decisions

    Season 2, episode 4 /
People process information in four ways—thinking, feeling, knowing, sensing.  It’s directly relevant to how we decide to network and, of course, is widely applicable in business and in life.

One point to aim for is that we should trust our intuition (‘knowing’ in this model).

    00:00  Think/feel/know/sense model
    03:13  Thinking
    04:11  Feeling
    04:35  Knowing (intuition)
    05:13  Sensing
06:08  Example of going to a restaurant
09:32  How to apply this model in business?—story of the father and three children
    12:00  Giving a presentation
13:29  Are you at risk of being someone you’re not by seeking to modify your communication with others?
    15:50  Trust your intuition (knowing)
