    Second Wind Fund believes that every child and youth at risk of suicide should have access to the mental health treatment they need. They match children and youth at risk for suicide with licensed therapists in their communities. If a financial or social barrier to treatment is present, the Second Wind Fund pays for up to 12 sessions of therapy from one of their specialized network providers. Their unique program helps referred youth discover hope and healing in their lives.

     

    The youth suicide rate throughout Colorado is alarmingly high. Over the last 19 years, Second Wind Fund has expanded to provide life-saving services to over 7,000 children and teens in communities throughout Colorado. www.Coloradogives.org/m3podcast

An accomplished athlete as well, Jen has competed in 13 Ironman races and has qualified for the Ironman World Championship 3 separate times (she certainly walks the walk).     Guest bio:

    Coach Jennifer Comfort began racing in 2005 and has since competed at all levels and distances of multi-sport. From playing collegiate soccer in Mexico to her first local mountain bike sprint triathlon to three-time Ironman and 70.3 World Championship finisher and Boston Marathon qualifier, Jennifer enthusiastically shares her passion, knowledge, and experience with her athletes as a USAT Certified Coach. She coaches athletes at all levels including qualifiers to Kona and 70.3 Worlds, Swimruns, Everestings, Ultras, Centuries, and Marathon Swims. Jennifer was a member of the Wattie Ink Elite Team and is currently a sponsored athlete on the inaugural F3 Endurance Team. For many years she has earned the distinctions of USAT All-American, USAT Regional AG Champion, and Ironman AWA Gold Athlete. She is a dedicated mom to three teenagers and two Yorkies and finds pure joy when trail running, reading, baking bread, fly fishing, scuba diving, paddle boarding, and alpine skiing.
