Melissa Etheridge: “Everything Is Love”
Melissa Etheridge is one of rock music’s great icons. She burst onto the American rock scene as a singer-songwriter in 1988 with her self-titled debut album, and hasn’t left it since. Melissa has remained one of America’s favorite singer-songwriters for over three decades, with two Grammys and fifteen nominations, an Academy Award, five platinum albums, and more accolades marking her prolific career. The rockstar, mother, activist and trailblazer shares her story in her memoir “Talking to My Angels”, including her battle with breast cancer, the heartbreaking loss of her son and how music has gotten her through it all. Melissa sat down with Hoda Kotb to open up about it all, sharing the lessons she’s learned and how she continues to evolve, on stage and in life.

The Gay '90s
In this final installment of our “decades” series, Theresa, Jaime, and special guest Kevin Cozart dive into the 1990s, an era that saw LGBTQ culture burst out of the closet and into the mainstream. We reflect on the many milestones in queer literature, music, television, and film achieved in the ‘90s—from Angels in America winning the Pulitzer Prize to Ellen DeGeneres coming out on national television. Our hosts discuss how these pop culture moments shaped their own relationships to queerness and how the ‘90s have influenced contemporary LGBTQ culture.

Queer Artists
We're here, we're queer and we're talking about our people!
After weeks devoted to those pop divas the gay community worships most, Billy and Greg are putting the spotlight on the LGBTQIA artists carving out space for themselves in the ever-expanding world of pop music. From Elton to Troye, Melissa to Hayley, The Scissor Sisters to King Princess, we're covering it all. And if we missed anyone out there making music in this current rainbow revolution, please let us know on Twitter @flopstarspod. Seriously, we're always looking to support more queer artists!
As always, we've got a handful of picks for Pop and Flop of the Week. And yes, this has become a Doja Cat stancast. Sorry, not sorry.
Enjoy!
