From Chronic Pain to Vibrant Health with Patti Woodworth-Norris

Welcome to another enlightening episode of the Over 50 Health & Wellness Show, the #1 podcast dedicated to helping you become the leanest, strongest, healthiest, and most vital version of yourself in the second half of your life.

    Today,
we're diving deep into a topic that resonates with so many of us over 50 -
managing chronic pain and chronic stress. Our guest, Patti Woodworth-Norris,
brings a wealth of experience and insight to this conversation. With 25 years
of practice in massage therapy, Patti has witnessed firsthand the profound
effects of the mind-body connection on health and quality of life.

    But
Patti's journey is not just about her professional experience. She has walked
the challenging path of anxiety, depression, chronic headaches, and lower back
pain. Her personal struggles led her to discover the transformative work of Dr.
John Sarno and his diagnosis of Tension Myoneural Syndrome (TMS). This
revelation became a turning point in her life, guiding her towards a deeper
understanding of repressed emotional issues and their impact on physical and
    mental well-being.

    As Patti
delved deeper into healing modalities, she stumbled upon FasterEFT - a powerful
blend of Neurolinguistic Programming, Emotional Freedom Technique, and modern
hypnosis. This became the missing piece in her journey to reclaim her health
    and zest for life.

    In this
episode, Patti shares her inspiring story of overcoming the mental and physical
challenges of midlife. She offers invaluable insights and tools that have not
only transformed her life but can also help you become the best version of
    yourself.

    Tune in to
learn from Patti's experiences, and discover how you too can navigate the
challenges of midlife with grace, resilience, and vitality. Whether you're
dealing with chronic pain, stress, or seeking a renewed sense of purpose, this
episode promises to be a beacon of hope and inspiration.

The Emotional Meaning of Common Symptoms

The Emotional Meaning of Common Symptoms

This episode is a topic that is near and dear to my heart as it's the root of the work that I have done with myself and hundreds of women over the last 5 years. For every illness or dis-ease, there is an emotional root and not addressing this when we're trying to heal our bodies is a true disservice to our journey/healing. I share the common symptoms: inflammation, digestive issues, acne/skin issues, menstrual disorders, and emotional eating and their emotional underpinnings in this episode.

Share this with a friend or sister who might need this missing link on their healing journey <3

On today's episode of Yours Mentally we talk about the Polyvagal Theory. This episode is in conversation with Jahan Ara Chughtai who is a Trauma Informed Psychotherapist.

We begin the episode by asking Jahan to give an overview of the Central nervous system and the Peripheral nervous system and its structures for our listeners who aren't familiar with the basics of the nervous system.
We then go on to talk about what is the vagus nerve.
Jahan then gives us a little information about who Stephan Porges and Deb Dana are and what they do.
Jahan then tells us what exactly is the Polyvagal theory.
We also talk about how can the use of the social engagement system be beneficial for us?
Jahan then goes on to explain what is Neuroception, what is co-regulation and what are cues of safety and cues of danger.
We then discuss what populations does the Polyvagal Theory work best with.
We also talk about how does trauma affect our nervous system’s response?
Lastly, we talk about how therapists incorporate the Polyvagal theory in their practice and how does it help their clients?

NOTE: At 16:06 of the podcast, there is an audio glitch which was not fixable. Jahan says  the words "we meet people" in that glitch.
