Bro. Craig Knowles resumes his message from the third chapter in the book of Titus which speaks on the topic of good works and serves as a reminder to the saints at Crete.

How do we live our lives in these challenging times... how do we live joyously? Is such a thing even possible? Paul gives us God's perspective on how to live in this thank you note to the church. What insights are to be gained as we look to God's Word?

Challenge, in the Christian sense, has been defined as God's call for response. God uses a number of means to challenge us, e.g., the challenge of the scriptures (Heb 4:12) when it is proclaimed with authority and clarity; the challenge of the spirit in convincing humanity of sin, righteousness and judgment (John 16:8); the challenge of the saints to a sinful world concerning Jesus Christ; and the challenge of the seasons, such as Christmas, Thanksgiving and Easter.

This morning Bro. Craig Knowles will lead us in a looking at 2 Corinthians 5 and allowing the text to speak to the motives behind our actions.

Today's message was to be my final message as Sr. Pastor-teacher of CBC. However, due to the fact that I was asked by the Pastoral Board to speak at the AM service on September 8th, prior to the Farewell Luncheon planned for that day, I decided that the best way to deal with this "Limbo" situation was to present my farewell message in two parts. Today is Part One.

Once again we take this special time to honor our moms & to celebrate motherhood! Our service is filled with special music from SonBeams & a special men's choir,drama,special video presentations, readings & more including a special challenge from Craig Knowles. There will be no evening service today, so you'll have extra time to spend with all the the moms in your life.

Partaking of the Lord"s supper should be a dynamic spiritual experience. This can only be true if we act responsibly in faith. The service itself may encourage or hinder creative faith. Each church should see it that the external arrangements of the service encourages real participation.

Missions Conference - Day 1

Pastor Lee continues his focus on how the New Testament teaches evangelism is to be done - and by whom - if the church's mandate to "Make Disciples" is to be fulfilled God's Way, and how far the present day church has departed from the New Testament model. As usual, opportunity for response from members via open dialogue will be made available in the evening service

This is the first of three messages that are intended to focus our attention on the core meaning of Christmas - the Incarnation of The Eternal Son of God and the Cosmic purpose for this "unbelievable,,unthinkable," indescribable event that changed the course of history and the destiny of every man, woman and child on the the face of this planet.

"Be filled with the Spirit...giving thanks" (Eph. 5:18,20). Only the Holy Spirit can truly inspire the standard and substance of true Christian thanksgiving. To attempt to work up thanksgiving by our own efforts is not only a frustrating experience, but is also totally unacceptable to God and insipid to our fellow man. Nothing is more pathetic than to hear someone trying to be thankful without any motivation or inspiration. But when the Holy Spirit fills and floods the life, thanksgiving becomes both inevitable and irresistible.

I am one of the most insidious, dangerous, deceitful, evil and sinful phenomenon to ever take up residence in the human heart. Th Ten Commandments warned you about me. Who am I? Do you know?

Returning guest speaker, Evangelist Bruce Heffner, well known for sharing the Gospel by incorporating music & illusion into the message, will share from God's Word in a message entitled "The Love of God. What it is. What it isn't."

During the past month, via praise and testimonials, we have covered "Five Decades of Praise" as we celebrated the Golden Anniversary of Calvary Bible Church. This Church has been a lighthouse for God and his Gospel for half a Century. There's no doubt that the light shone extremely bright in years gone by. The questions that we must now honestly and fearlessly ask and answer are: Is it as bright today? and will it be brighter tomorrow - in the next 25 or 50 years, should the Lord tarry? Today's message will - Once Again - give the Biblical directives as to where we should go as a church, what we must do to get there and who are the ones responsible for taking us there.
