Mr. Robot | Series Finale Recap

Mr. Robot | Series Finale Recap

Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) and Antonio Mazzaro (@acmazzaro) are here with their recap of the final episode of Mr. Robot. That's right, the final episode, the series finale, the end of the line. Show's over, folks!

In the first of their two final Mr. Robot podcasts, Josh and Antonio deliver their initial reactions to the two-hour series finale, written and directed by Sam Esmail. Obviously, saying anything more here is saying way too much. If you have not yet seen the episode, do yourself a favor and watch it, then hear what Josh and Antonio have to say about it.

Josh and Antoni will return for one more podcast covering feedback and final thoughts on all things Mr. Robot. Send your feedback to mrrobot@postshowrecaps.com.

    About Mr. Robot ...

Rami Malek stars on USA Network's Mr. Robot as Elliot Alderson, a computer hacker with dissociative identity disorder who alternately works with and against another facet of himself: Mr. Robot (Christian Slater), the spitting image of Elliot's deceased father. Together and apart, Elliot and Robot have radically changed the world through their revolutionary acts, with a trail of bodies and billions of dollars left in their wake.

Additional cast includes Carly Chaikin as Elliot's sister Darlene, Portia Doubleday as childhood friend Angela Moss, Martin Wallström as shark-suited Tyrell Wellick, Michael Cristofer...

Mr. Robot | Season 4, Episode 9 Recap: "409 Conflict"

Mr. Robot | Season 4, Episode 9 Recap: "409 Conflict"

It's raining chaos, and Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) and Antonio Mazzaro (@acmazzaro) have brought their umbrellas accordingly.

Josh and Antonio discuss "409 Conflict," the ninth episode of the final season of Sam Esmail's Mr. Robot. After several brutal installments in a row, Elliot (Rami Malek) and Darlene (Carly Chaikin) finally strike back against the Whiterose (BD Wong) empire, with a helpful assist from an unlikely ally: Phillip Price (Michael Cristofer). Josh and Antonio discuss the attack against the Deus Group, the casualties along the way, and that insane opening scene.

Mr. Robot | Season 4, Episode 8 Recap: "408 Request Timeout"

Mr. Robot | Season 4, Episode 8 Recap: "408 Request Timeout"

Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) and Antonio Mazzaro (@acmazzaro) do their best to find the key to unlocking the latest hour of Sam Esmail's Mr. Robot, "408 Request Timeout."

Following on the heels of the devastating, groundbreaking "407 Proxy Authentication Required," Josh and Antonio move forward into "408 Request Timeout," an episode that lives up to its title: Elliot (Rami Malek) takes the time to confront the severity of what he's just learned about his past, while the rest of the action centers on Darlene (Carly Chaikin), Dom (Grace Gummer) and Janice (Ashlie Atkinson). It does not work out so well for all of them — some worse than others.

Mr. Robot | Season 4, Episode 7 Feedback: "407 Proxy Authentication Required"

Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) and Antonio Mazzaro (@acmazzaro) brave the storm once again to talk about "407 Proxy Authentication Required," the groundbreaking seventh installment of the final Mr. Robot season.

In this podcast, Josh and Antonio use listener feedback to guide their conversation, crawling all over the brutal hour of television. Among topics covered: Elliot's heartbreaking revelation, the question of whether we will ever see Mr. Robot again, if Fernando Vera's return to the series is now officially justified, how the episode structure maps to the five stages of grief, and more.

Mr. Robot | Season 4, Episode 7 Reaction: "407 Proxy Authentication Required"

Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) and Antonio Mazzaro (@acmazzaro) offer their first thoughts on "407 Proxy Authentication Required," the latest episode of Sam Esmail's Mr. Robot. Note that this episode covers difficult subject matter, and listener discretion is advised. As the episode itself advises, resources are available via the National Domestic Violence Hotline: 1-800-799-7233 and thehotline.org.

Josh and Antonio will discuss the episode further with the assistance of feedback in a separate podcast. Write in on Twitter or using our e-mail address.

Mr. Robot | Season 4, Episode 6 Recap: "406 Not Acceptable"

Mr. Robot | Season 4, Episode 6 Recap: "406 Not Acceptable"

Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) and Antonio Mazzaro (@acmazzaro) bring their baseball bats to the podcast (but not their "Little B" hats) as they discuss the latest round of Mr. Robot.

In "406 Not Acceptable," Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek) crosses an uncrossable line by drugging a woman as a means of blackmailing her into helping target the Dark Army. What's the cost of one life in service of taking down the biggest shadow conspiracy in modern human history? It's the question on Elliot's mind as he undertakes the action, and your answer and his may differ entirely.

Elsewhere in the episode, Fernando Vera (Elliot Villar) steps further out of the shadows and into the light as he tries to turn Krista (Gloria Reuben) into a weapon. His goal: break Elliot, and use him to conquer New York City. The end of the episode strongly indicates an imminent meeting of the minds between Elliot and Vera, their first showdown following the prison break and the subsequent death of Shayla (Frankie Shaw).

Mr. Robot | Season 4, Episode 5 Recap: "405 Method Not Allowed"

Mr. Robot | Season 4, Episode 5 Recap: "405 Method Not Allowed"

Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) and Antonio Mazzaro (@acmazzaro) script out all their thoughts on the latest episode of Mr. Robot and translate them to podcast via text to voice, as a grand tribute to the (mostly) dialogue-free "405 Method Not Allowed."

In "405 Method Not Allowed," creator Sam Esmail removes spoken dialogue from the equation for a largely wordless hour of the USA Network thriller. Elliot (Rami Malek) and Darlene (Carly Chaikin) break into Virtual Realty in an attempt to get their hands around the throat of the Deus Group's money source, while Dominique DiPierro (Grace Gummer) is sent upstate to check on the burning Dark Army van left in the wake of "404 Not Found." It's all action, all the time, in a very special Christmas episode of Mr. Robot, and therefore a very special episode of the Mr. Robot podcast.

Josh and Antonio will be late with their podcast recap of "406 Not Acceptable," so plenty of time for you to send in your questions and comments. Do so at by writing in to our email address or by reaching out on Twitter, and keep an eye out on your podcast feed on November 13.
