Nothing unusual about decades-long film franchises and their characters - from SHERLOCK HOLMES and ZORRO, to SUPERMAN, JAMES BOND and more. What is rare however is to have one actor portray a single character over those decades. And as both performer and character matures and changes physically, emotionally and otherwise, we as the audience also mature and change with them. To be introduced as a child to a Han Solo, Rocky Balboa or Mr. Spock by one’s parent, then as a parent to take your children to a new film featuring that performer and character - often on screen with their children!, is an emotionally unique cinematic experience - the kind of which, hey, admit it, in recent films such as THE FORCE AWAKENS and CREED has been responsible for more than a few eye-watering responses. Craig and Jim get personal in this one, diving into and dissecting five beloved cinematic icons (well, four individuals and one couple) - each portrayed by the same actor or actress over 25 - 50 years, relating their initial reactions as children through to their (at times surprising) interpretation / opinions of them today. And it’s not necessarily what you might expect.
