The Petroglyphs of Mu: Pohnpei, Nan Madol, and the Legacy of Lemuria

The Petroglyphs of Mu: Pohnpei, Nan Madol, and the Legacy of Lemuria

While residing on the small Pacific island of Pohnpei in the 1990s, Carole Nervig discovered that a recent brush fire had exposed hundreds of previously unknown petroglyphs carved on gigantic boulders. This portion of the megalithic site called Pohnpaid was unknown even to Pohnpei’s state historic preservation officer. The petroglyphs were unlike others from Oceania, so she began investigating and comparing them with petroglyphs and symbols from around the world.

She documents her discoveries on Pohnpei, revealing how the archetypal symbols of the Pohnpaid petroglyphs have exact counterparts in other ancient cultures and universal motifs throughout the world, including the Australian Aborigines, the Inca in Peru, the Vedic civilization of India, early Norse runes, and Japanese symbols. She provides evidence that Pohnpaid is closely related to--yet predates--neighboring Nan Madol and shows how Pohnpaid was an outpost of the sunken Kahnihmueiso, a city of the now-vanished civilization of Mu, or Lemuria.

She examines how many of the glyphs symbolize celestial phenomena and clearly reveal how their creators were sky watchers with a sophisticated understanding of astronomy, geophysics, geomancy, and engineering. She shows how the scientific concepts depicted in the petroglyphs reveal how the citizens of Mu had a much deeper understanding of the living Earth than we do, which gave them the ability to manipulate natural forces both physically and energetically. Combining archaeological evidence with traditional oral accounts, Nervig reveals Pohnpaid not only as a part of a geodetic network of ancient sacred sites and portals but also as a remnant of the now submerged but once enlightened Motherland of Mu.

005: Socrates Never Won a Debate By Licking Someone's Ear

005: Socrates Never Won a Debate By Licking Someone's Ear
How do we decide which strips to look at each episode? Brooke uses a very scientific "process of rage." And so this episode we focus on talking about Edda & Amos, the most romantic and perfect couple the modern world has ever seen. What evidence is there of their amazing relationship? Well, Amos goes out of his way to make a terrible pun and Edda either punches him or hip-checks him out of the strip. (Who can tell which? Not us, for sure!) Not for good, unfortunately. Edda also gets sexy for Amos, who is obviously too stupid to pick up on simple cues like lingerie. I mean, he's a real idiot. It nearly makes Jeff lose his mind. In a special Sunday edition, Amos's sexual petulance finds a new level, inspiring Edda to (apparently) put his entire ear in her mouth. We are apparently to believe that Amos and Edda are NOT doing it doggy style on a dock. Yeah yeah, sure sure, it's just accidental that they're drawn that way. Finally, their newborn twins, Polly and Lolly (lord help us), use their powers of mental telepathy to discuss Amos and Edda's sex life. It's totally cool, guys. Very, VERY cool. The Chickweed strips we discuss this episode: The first two are here. (https://twitter.com/9chickweedRAGE/status/1569020251970613248?s=20&t=m4pO1oOKEwzj1QXby5yvvA) The big Sunday strip is here. 002: Rock-Hard, Bulging Sidearm

    002: Rock-Hard, Bulging Sidearm
In part two of this three-part horror-fest, we continue to follow the romance (we guess?) of Thorax and Esme. We admit to Brooke McEldowney that we probably just don't get his very, very smart comic strip. Brooke (Dillman, not McEldowney) invents a new word while describing Esme's sudden and aggressive seduction of Thorax, which includes (of course) uncomfortable double entendre, sexy (?) grammar wordplay, and hilarious airport metaphors. Esme kisses Thorax A LOT. But he does nothing, until the very end, when he magically (?) does something very, VERY upsetting. At least to us. It probably gave ol' B. McE a boner. You know what? There's no probably about it. We also explore our theory that McEldowney is a weird college professor/nudist. (One caveat, we're not super tech smart. And as we've begun this podcast, we've had some glitches to deal with. Please bear with us for the occasional audio weirdness. Thanks!) Born in NYC, working in London and as of 2020 residing in Los Angeles, Max Vanderwolf has recorded several albums and countless songs. Most of them remain unreleased. Notably, he was vocalist and creative-force behind the semi-legendary London band, Last Man Standing, whose sole album in 2008 received plaudits from many including Mojo and Uncut.

Concurrent to his life in music, Vanderwolf has worked under an assumed name as a music programmer and concert producer in some of the worlds’ most celebrated clubs and venues. He went from overseeing the legendary underground downtown NYC’s Knitting Factory to overseeing London’s Royal Festival Hall, where for 9 years he produced the Meltdown Festival where he worked closely with David Bowie, Patti Smith, Jarvis Cocker, Massive Attack and others. He has produced concerts in Brooklyn, Rome and Paris working closely with John Cale, Sparks and the Residents.

Connecticut rock band The Neybas (pronounced “nay-bahz”), a cult favorite in the northeast United States for decades, has just released their fifth album, “Sunshine Hotel.” The album’s collection of hook-laden songs spans multiple genres – from traditional and punkafunkadelic rock, to ska and reggae, seasoned with a dash of Caribbean, New Orleans and jam grooves. The lyrics provide snapshots of the people who work, meet, love – and stay – at the Sunshine Hotel.
The Neybas’ music is organic, energetic, and danceable, with good-vibes and echoes of the late 60s and early 70s. They have won multiple readers’ polls including “Best Original Music,” and “Best Live Performance,” among others. Over the years, the Neybas have played live with the Georgia Satellites, Joan Osborne, Great White, Felix Cavaliere of The Rascals, Ratt, Everything, Poison, Universal Honey, and Rick Derringer, to name a few.
Featuring original members Kevin “English” Bornstein (bass/vocals), Nicholas “Toad” Eckert (guitar/vocals), Russ “Skull” Waesche (guitar/vocals), and long-time drummer Emmet Hale, they added keyboardist and hometown “neybahood” friend Greg Marshall in 2019 to complete the outfit.

We show you how to use software (your plugins) like a hardware chain, so you can commit on the way in or track both processed/clean signals without expensive analog outboard gear.

Why would you want to do that?

Committing as you go and not leaving all the decisions for later will

    • be more inspiring and fun
    • save you time (you need to do less in the mix)
    • lead to more unique, “imperfect” and exciting results
    • save you CPU power in the mix
    • help you learn quickly
    • make recording decisions easier and give you more clarity as you build layers and tones on top of each other

We'll show you how to do that, what to watch out for and you'll get some examples of chains you can build immediately to start experimenting.
