Prof. dr. Jan Gielen - univ. Antwerp, Belgia, imagistica musculoscheletala p02

Prof. dr. Jan Gielen - univ. Antwerp, Belgia, imagistica musculoscheletala p02

Part 2 of a nice and warm conversation with prof. Jan Gielen from Belgium.
He is a pillar of musculoskeletal radiology in Europe, practicing MSK imaging for almost 40 years. He was a pioneer of musculoskeletal ultrasound in an era where ultrasound was in its infancy and imaging, the bone was done by x-ray only. He is a very friendly type of professor. He is  happy to discuss radiology issues with anyone interested, and I  saw him frequently discussing radiology topics at any given time. At breakfast, at lunch and at dinner. He likes to practice msk radiology as much as he loves to teach others (and he has done that all his life). He is a young and curious mind and he surprises me, every time we meet, with his clarity. He is my mentor.

    Astăzi, partea a doua
a conversatiei cu prof. Gielen, despre radiologie si viața, trecut, prezent si viitor.

My guest in this episode of Totally Well Podcast is Dr. Janine Crifasi, D.C., Functional Chiropractic Neurologist from Delta S Performance.

    About Janine Crifasi, D.C.

As an athlete, with multiple injuries, I was around health care often. As I was growing up I experienced learning disabilities, which encouraged me to think outside the box to succeed. As a chiropractic physician, I experienced complex, unresolved conditions like Lyme disease and metabolic conditions. This inspired me to pursue a specialty which demanded expertise of the human brain and its control over the gut and body. I wanted to help others avoid the health hardships I and my family suffered through. I wanted to tackle the abstract, unanswered questions and unresolved health concerns of my patients and find a way to help them function optimally.

In my professional career I have been privileged to serve the San Francisco Bay and New York areas and have found my home in the Greater Boston and Providence area with my son.

I’m a member of the Delta S Performance team, where our mission is to meet the growing demand for support and understanding of neurologically-based conditions and get results for our patients. We apply our knowledge of blood chemistry, neurochemistry, physiology and functional neurology to create personalized care plans for our patients while working collaboratively with the rest of their health care team. We want to change lives one brain at a time.

My chiropractic practice helped the musculoskeletal injuries of my patients, but also revealed to me there was more to be done to improve their health. The Carrick Institute protocols and procedures to care for patients with dizziness, post-concussion syndrome, balance disorders, and some neurodegenerative conditions filled the void I saw in practice.

The functional medicine model, with its emphasis on blood-brain and brain-gut connection with appropriate supplementation added another layer. The care I now provide with Delta S Performance is effective for management of neuro-immune and neuro-endocrine function.

My experience has also given me specialized knowledge in metabolic syndromes, tickborne illness, thyroid dysregulation, anxiety and depression through the lens of functional neurology.

The specific and individualized treatment protocols, combined with our teamwork driven approach at Delta S Performance is a perfect fit for many in our communities.

If you know me, there is nothing more I love than to talk with and help people. I am here to support your health concerns, so please do not hesitate to reach out, I am here for you.
