The 1774 Raid on Fort William & Mary

The 1774 Raid on Fort William & Mary

On December 14, 1774, John Langdon and a group New Hampshire Patriots stormed the lightly garrisoned Fort William & Mary to seize its stores of gunpowder and cannon. Sarah Vedrani tells us about the raid, about the historic events being planned in commemoration.  Now Fort Constitution on an active Coast Guard base in New Castle, (the only New Hampshire town which is entirely on islands), the Fort is still worth visiting!  She also tells us about the exciting happenings at Portsmouth's Strawbery Banke, a ten-acre historic neighborhood, and the living history at the Colonel Paul Wentworth House in Rollinsford.

    Ep.107 Beware of Delaware

    Ep.107 Beware of Delaware

This week, we head to the first state in the United States, Delaware. Kenzie covers the case of Anne Marie Fahey and Tom Capano. This is a classic story of what happens when a rich, white man doesn’t get his way. Then, Lauren discusses the unsolved murder of Jane M. Prichard and the theories surrounding the possible culprit. Delaware, small but mighty.

Personal Injury Lawyer New Castle, DE

Personal Injury Lawyer New Castle, DE

Do I require the services of a personal injury attorney?

Yes, it is the answer. Personal injury attorneys defend victims of injuries and may assist them in obtaining compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, and other damages. They accomplish this by bringing a lawsuit on their clients' behalf. Personal injury lawyers are frequently chosen by clients to solve their difficulties. They do, however, represent insurance companies and defense businesses. In most states, if you are hurt as a result of another person's or corporation's negligence, you may bring a claim against that person's or firm's insurance coverage.

You can submit a claim against an insurance company without engaging a lawyer if you are willing to accept a modest payment and risk having your claim rejected by the insurance company. Personal injury attorneys are well-versed in dealing with such situations. Personal injury attorneys frequently charge a percentage of the money they recover for you. Depending on the circumstances, the amount could be a percentage of the total payout or a smaller part of the total incentive.

What does Personal Injury Law entail?

A personal injury lawsuit is a legal action taken against someone who has caused you harm. Personal injury lawsuits are frequently based on carelessness or product responsibility. Negligence is defined as a failure to take reasonable measures. Any product that causes harm or damage is subject to product responsibility. A personal injury lawyer can tell you if your claim is legitimate and if you have a high chance of winning. Car accidents, slip and falls, dog attacks, motorcycle accidents, and medical malpractice are all examples of personal injury claims involving negligence or product liability. A personal injury lawyer may be able to assist you if you were hurt as a result of another person's negligence or a defective product.

The lawyer may be able to assist you in reaching an agreement with the other party. If the other party refuses to pay a reasonable settlement sum, your lawyer may represent you in court. You can sue a firm or an individual that made a mistake in a personal injury case. If you were hit by a drunk driver, you have the right to sue the driver as well as the manufacturer if the car was defective. If you were burned while using a defective product, such as a toaster, you may be able to sue the maker. You have a legal right to sue the store owner or pharmacist who sold you a faulty medication.

Novel Experiences Will Help You as an Entrepreneur | Samantha Post, Co-Owner of T&M Hardware & Rental

Novel Experiences Will Help You as an Entrepreneur | Samantha Post, Co-Owner of T&M Hardware & Rental

Samantha Post is a second-generation co-owner of T&M Hardware & Rental, which was started by her parents in 1991. The “T&M” stands for Tim and Mary, and they raised their four kids in the family business. After a career of moving around the U.S. with his employer, Tim decided that it was time to move back to the Pittsburgh area and put his skills to work in his own business. They evaluated several opportunities, but ultimately, Tim and Mary decided to turn around a struggling hardware store in Ellwood City. This formula proved to be the right approach, and Tim and his family have successfully opened five more locations using a similar strategy over the past 30 years.

After starting her career in public health in the Washington D.C. area, Samantha decided that she wanted more autonomy and fulfillment with her work. In 2013, she decided to move home and rejoin the family business. One of her first major projects was to manage the company’s latest acquisition in the Bellevue community. In this episode, Samantha talks about what it was like to grow up in a family business, how she has dealt with the challenges of working in a male-dominated industry, and why their business continues to grow and thrive in spite of operating in the hypercompetitive world of retail.

If you have any questions or if you’d like to chat, you can reach me at my contact info below.
