According to Unicef, although primary education is officially free and compulsory in Nigeria, about 10.5 million of the country’s children aged 5-14 years are not in school and 1 in 5 of the World's out of school children is in Nigeria. Non-western education is forbidden in certain parts of Northern Nigeria.
