Is Russia Winning The Economic War?

Is Russia Winning The Economic War?

Vladimir Putin announced in a speech last month that Russia had weathered the worst of the Economic sanctions imposed by Western nations. He said that “gloomy predictions about the Russian economy’s future didn’t come true” and that the sanctions had hit foreign economies much harder than they had hit Russia. He added that “The weaponry of sanctions is a double-edged sword… and European countries had dealt a serious blow to their own economies all on their own.” So are the sanctions on Russia working? Or Is Russia winning the Economic War?

How Did Russian Oligarchs Get So Rich?

How Did Russian Oligarchs Get So Rich?

Russian Oligarchs have become synonymous with superyachts, luxury mansions and the shady political maneuvering of post-Soviet Russia. Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Russian billionaires like Roman Abramovich, Vladimir Potanin, Alisher Usmanov and Oleg Deripaska have been all over the news.

The word Oligarch conjures up images of opportunistic, well-connected businessmen who made billions by plundering the remains of the collapsed Soviet state. But how exactly did Russia’s oligarchs get so rich?

Can Anyone Force Putin To Stand Trial For War Crimes?

Can Anyone Force Putin To Stand Trial For War Crimes?

With more devastating reports from Ukraine of horrific crimes including massacres, torture and rape being committed by Russian forces against civilians, there are increasing calls for Russian President Vladimir Putin and his soldiers to be prosecuted for war crimes.

But who actually has the authority to make them face consequences for these horrendous acts, and would that really put an end to the conflict given that such trials have in the past taken years to reach a verdict?

The Quicky speaks to an expert in international law to find out what is and isn't possible when it comes to holding Russia to account.

Episode 20- Ukraine vs. Russia: what you probably don't know- with Stephen Zunes

Episode 20- Ukraine vs. Russia: what you probably don't know- with Stephen Zunes

In this episode of Real Talks on the Rocks, I sit down with Stephen Zunes, who is a professor of International Politics at the University of San Francisco. Topics that we discuss include the current war in Ukraine between Ukraine and Russia, the real motivations behind NATO and how NATO had re-established itself in the region and how the little-known annexation of Western Sahara by the country of Morocco had set the standard for how Russia is treating Ukraine. We also discuss the Israel/Palestine issues as they stand today and how both Israel and China are looking at what is happening in Ukraine to dictate how they proceed with their own agendas back home.

Ketanji Brown Jackson: Weak on Crime, Tough on America, Guests: Investigative Reporter John Solomon, Sen. Marsha Blackburn

Ketanji Brown Jackson: Weak on Crime, Tough on America, Guests: Investigative Reporter John Solomon, Sen. Marsha Blackburn

On today's Breitbart News Daily podcast, we recap the first day of the Ketanji Brown Jackson Supreme Court confirmation hearings. She seems like a nice lady, but how on Earth can a supporter of the anti-constitution 1619 Project defend, you know, our Constitution for a living from the highest court in the land? Not to mention, she is weak on crime and sympathetic to CRT. But hey, she checks all the right boxes, so she must be a genius. Also, we discuss how male UPenn swimmer, cheater and hoaxer, Lia Thomas, probably threw swimming races to gain credibility with the public. Then, we detail how more woke corporations, especially Disney are eating themselves alive. Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal has all of a sudden realized that Elon Musk really, really, really loves China. And, Dept. of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has assembled a counsel of woke corporate elites with no record of defending our borders to help him solve the border crisis. We have two terrific guests. First, investigative journalist and founder of Just The News, John Solomon, gives an excellent assessment of the Russian/Ukraine situation and Tennessee Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) recaps her opening remarks at the Jackson SCOTUS confirmation hearing and she lays out her strategy for today's Q & A.

Governor Phil Bryant | Russia Invades Ukraine | State Legislatures Including Mississippi Condemn Putin's Russia

Governor Phil Bryant | Russia Invades Ukraine | State Legislatures Including Mississippi Condemn Putin's Russia
Governor Phil Bryant (2012-2020) joins America's Roundtable Radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy for a conversation on Russia's invasion of Ukraine and Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky addressing a joint meeting of the House and Senate to press his case for more aid to Ukraine. According to Reuters: "Over 2 million refugees have entered Poland from Ukraine since the start of the Russian invasion on Feb. 24, the Polish border guard said on Friday." Estimates from Europe suggest that the numbers will rise to more than 5 million Ukrainians fleeing their homes in the coming weeks. The program features America's state legislatures and governors around the nation who are condemning Russia's ongoing invasion of Ukraine. Through a principled endeavor, both the Mississippi House of Representatives and Senate passed resolutions barring any business between state entities and Russia. Governor Bryant served two terms as Mississippi’s 64th governor from 2012 to January 2020 and served as Mississippi’s lieutenant governor, as state auditor, and as a legislator in the Mississippi House of Representatives. Phil Bryant is a founding member of Bryant Songy Snell Global Partners where he provides strategic advice and counsel and business development services to some of the world’s largest industry leaders. He is a distinguished guest-host of America's Roundtable and serves on the International Leaders Summit's leadership board. While serving as Mississippi’s chief executive officer, Governor Bryant largely centered his efforts on creating new economic opportunities, among other things. Under Governor Bryant’s leadership Mississippi saw its lowest-ever unemployment rate, its lowest-ever high school dropout rate, its lowest-ever teen pregnancy rate, its highest-ever number of jobs, its highest-ever number of graduating physicians, its highest-ever K-12 reading and math improvement scores, and its highest-ever high school graduation rate. Governor Bryant’s dedicated focus on economic development yielded more than $8 billion in private sector investment in Mississippi as well as the largest economic project in state history—a landmark agreement with Continental Tire to build a major manufacturing facility in central Mississippi and create more than 2,500 new jobs. Governor Bryant dovetailed public education reforms with a strong focus on workforce training programs and job creation. His administration worked to improve career-technical training programs and their delivery through Mississippi’s top-rated community and junior college system, pairing program offerings with local workforce opportunities and collaborating with the K-12 system to strengthen high school vocational programs. He worked closely with the University of Mississippi Medical Center to build a new School of Medicine and to increase the number of graduating physicians each year; to position Mississippi as a national leader in telemedicine services and technology; and to create a state-of-the-art residential facility to care for medically fragile children. Governor Bryant served as chairman of the Education Commission of the States; chairman of the Southern States Energy Board; chairman of Jobs for America’s Graduates; and chairman of the Royal Commonwealth Society of the United States. https://ileaderssummit.org/services/americas-roundtable-radio/ https://ileaderssummit.org/ | https://jerusalemleaderssummit.com/ America's Roundtable on Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/americas-roundtable/id1518878472 Twitter: @supertalk @PhilBryantMS @ileaderssummit @NatashaSrdoc @JoelAnandUSA America's Roundtable is co-hosted by Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy, co-founders of International Leaders Summit and the Jerusalem Leaders Summit. Debra LaPrevotte, Former Senior FBI Official | Russian Invasion of Ukraine | U.S. Sanctions on Russia's Economy | Countering Kleptocracy
Join America's Roundtable co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy for a conversation with Debra LaPrevotte, Former Senior FBI Official, who was responsible for launching the FBI's Kleptocracy Program, on the recent U.S. sanctions on Russia, Vladimir Putin's inner circle of Russian oligarchs, and the country's financial institutions. The conversation will also highlight the urgency to impose the more crippling secondary sanctions advocated by US Senators James Risch and Pat Toomey, joined by 37 Senators including Roger Wicker and Cindy Hyde-Smith. In 2014, on behalf of the FBI, Debra LaPrevotte landed in Kyiv, Ukraine, to begin a high-level investigation focusing on the pro-Putin regime's elite including the ousted Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych who had just fled to Moscow. The pro-Russian regime's elite robbed the Ukrainian treasury of $40 billion according to expert estimates, thus weakening the sovereign state of Ukraine making it an easy target for Putin's Russia to annex the Crimean peninsula and arming separatists in the Donbas region leading to deaths of 14,000 Ukrainians during the period of April 2014 - May 2021. Debra retired after 20 years with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). She served as a Supervisory Special Agent on the International Corruption Unit at FBI Headquarters in Washington D.C. Debra was instrumental in initiating the FBI’s Kleptocracy program and seized more than $1 billion dollars from foreign corrupt officials. Debra has spent the past 14 years working international corruption investigations. She is also a Forensic Scientist and spent several years on the FBI’s Evidence Response Team Unit at the FBI Lab. Prior to her FBI career, Debra worked for the Department of Defense for five years. What Made Russians Skeptics About Democratic Capitalism?

What Made Russians Skeptics About Democratic Capitalism?

In this episode, Mark Williams talks with Will Pyle, the Frederick C. Dirks Professor of International Economics at Middlebury College, about recent findings he published in the journal Post-Soviet Affairs. Their discussion explores why Russians of a certain cohort—although liberated from the economic and political constraints of Soviet Communism—are not the strong enthusiasts of democracy and capitalism which many westerners believed they would become after the USSR collapsed.

What Happens To Sanctioned Oligarchs Assets?

What Happens To Sanctioned Oligarchs Assets?

The UK announced new sanctions yesterday relating to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, targeting seven oligarchs with links to Vladimir Putin. Among them is Roman Abramovich, the owner of Chelsea FC.

In today's video we try to answer three questions: Who owns Chelsea FC right now? What happens with the other Russian assets being seized around the world?  And, what happens with Russian financial assets like stocks and bonds that westerners own that have stopped trading due to the new sanctions?

    Episode 18 - Red Notice

    Episode 18 - Red Notice

Hi guys! Today I am talking about the political thriller, "Red Notice: A True Story of High Finance, Murder, and One Man's Quest for Justice" by Bill Browder. This book is a look behind the curtain into the gangster oligarchs running Russia from behind the scenes, how they seized power after the fall of the Soviet Union during the era of privatization, and how Vladimir Putin rose to become the kingpin of the whole thing. The book was written by an American who finds himself caught up in a political struggle between all these parties, has a good friend murdered, and ends up on an Interpol most-wanted "Red Notice" board. The Russians want him bad, and if you want to know why, you'll have to listen to this episode! I think you'll get a kick out of it.

    More Rubles than Scruples

    More Rubles than Scruples
Well, well, well the reign of Donny Boy has come to an end, with a crashing jolt as he and his missus took the tin missile into Palm Beach and the Mar-a-Largo crowd. What an exit, what a time, what a fucking time. With that said, are story doesn’t end here cause what we set out to do was two fold and it simply had to do with uncovering what the fuckhappened with the Russian Mob fellas, you know those guys who actually wield more power then Nancy Pelosi and those other jerk offs on Capitol Hill, the really nitty gritty shit. So back to the task at hand, and the diaries of Donald’s Crimes and Misdemeanors, I was surprised to find out this week a few things that I want to continue to hunt down. First, and you can really chalk this up to bizarre is I was doing some research into Andrew Weissman, he was basically Robert Mueller’s right hand man in the Mueller investigation, and this guy wrote a book, it’s called "Where Law Ends: Inside the Mueller Investigation," and I'm reading through the first 100 pages and one striking thing jumped out at me, would you believe that with all that man power, with all that talent Mueller had they NEVER investigated, looked into or touched anything having to do with Donald Trump’s financial dealings with Russia. Now if you knew this then good for you cause your smarter than, but if THEY were NOT following the money as you will , what the fuck were they actually doing???? Well here is maybe where I can come in handy, I am gonna keep pushing forward on the money and on these Russian Mafia Fellers cause I have a hunch the answers to all our questions about Donnie Trump, possibly is there, cause it ain’t in Washington where Republics all of a sudden have amnesia as it relates to the storming of the Capitol and I have a feeling this impeachment thing, yeahhhh yet again an exercise in fucking futility as that is what both the Democrats and Republicans are.

    Follow the Money

    Follow the Money
When I decided to name a podcast The Trump Mafia, my focus and vision was to delve into the criminal investigations that were swirling around Trump, his family and associates. I also wanted to really understand what happened as it relates to the information that exists that connects our President to the actual Russian Mafia and Russian Intelligence, which I plan on doing more in depth as we move forward. But, like I said to my fellow producer this week, we can’t ignore history right in front of our faces, and as of January of 2021 the Trump Mafia for me has taken on even more significance, Trump Mafia is a synonym for his base of supporters who are white supremacists, Qanon dreamers, Confederate Flag obsessives, and to be honest far right extremist groups who harbor violent tendencies. IfI am being honest with myself I harbor the same anger as it relates to the United States Government, that anger is an equal opportunity mechanism where I believe both the Democrats and the Republicans as a collective whole have failed our country, their selfish career advancement andbullshit Kabuki theatre might have run its course. But, one thing that boggles the mind, is how has this groundswell of people put their anger and faith in the man that is Donald Trump, what is it about him that emboldens close to 70 million people to vote for him, and become sacrificial lambs in what is political chicanery?
