Want to feel possibly the worst you’ve ever felt while also laughing a lot while also while also watching a child crawl all the way into an overlarge oven? Then we’ve got just the movie for you!! On this week’s Thanksgiving episode of Spooky Tuesday, we’re all about quality family time with The Visit (2015), a documentary-style flick from writer-director M. Night Shyamalan that will have you saying, “Shania Twain!” If that doesn’t make sense to you, don’t worry about it, because the only thing that you need to know going in is that Kathryn Hahn is super hot.

What happens when the Home Alone kid grows up and gets interested in girls — or at least one girl in particular? This Spooky Tuesday, we're tackling Better Watch Out (2016), the film that takes Kevin McCallister's childish hijinks and turns them into preteen predatory behaviors. Without getting too spoilery right off the bat, all we can say in that this is a movie that slaps you in the face about 30 minutes in — and then it just keeps spinning out of control.
Better Watch Out. Does this Christmas horror flick bring us holiday joy, or is it a big lump of coal? Join Donovan and Rick as they talk Better Watch Out.

We have the wonderful director of the new neo-noir Stray Dolls on the program, Sonejuhi Sinha. She’s calling in from New York to talk about a very Los Angeles movie – Nicolas Winding Refn’s Drive. Sonejuhi talks all about subverting the typical noir leading man with a female protagonist of color. She discusses creating a “mysterious city” for her film to take place in, much like the movie Drive. Plus, she elaborates on her obsession with motels. And she reveals why she sets a timer to write for 90 minutes.
You can watch Stray Dolls on VOD now.
If you haven’t seen Drive…get on it!
AND, if you want to check out April’s Staff Pick – watch Alice Winocour’s Disorder
