Kevin Milne: Omens for what 2024 has in store

2024 is still in its early days but nearly three weeks into January, Kevin Milne is starting to get a sense of what the year has in store for him.

He told Francesca Rudkin that this is the time of year where you have to look for omens, and with a speeding ticket and an insurance refund it’s already looking like a mixed bag.

Far Left Democrats Openly Support Iran Against America — Or Why I’ve Had Enough With Liberals / Saying That Claudine Gay Was a Victim of Racism Is Like Saying Hamas Are Freedom Fighters

In this new episode, Jeff explains how liberals have gone from goofy tree huggers to treasonous conspirators with America’s worst enemies. Now the Houthis, who brought slavery back to Yemen — among other charming progressive ideals — are the darlings of the far left. We must stop this idiocy before we surrender the country to these lunatics.

Jeff also explains that former Harvard president Claudine Gay should be an embarrassment to the Black community, not a fraudulent victim of racism. Pervasive academic fraud and rampant anti-Semitism should quickly require a university president to resign.

Mothman Pt. 1: 13 Reign over Point Pleasant and the Silver Bridge

Welcome to The Oddity Shop, Where the Bizarre is Always on Sale!  This week in the shop, Zach is starting a deep dive on everyone's Favorite Appalachian Cryptid...The Mothman.

Put on your detective hats as we navigate the eerie terrain of Appalachia, unearthing the fascinating tales of the Mothman and its impact on the locals. Be it the monster’s goofy gait, its chilling red eyes, or even the tragic collapse of the Silver Bridge, we’re leaving no stone unturned. You’ll meet the stalwart locals: Mary Hyre, the newspaper writer who brought the Mothman to the public's attention, and John Keel, the UFOlogist who joined her in documenting this supernatural saga, along with plenty others from Point Pleasant.

We tried to wrap it all up with a single episode, but there is just too much more.  So join us next week, as we present the other details of the Mothman Story and the oddities that were happening along side our favorite cryptid.

Ep.111 Ghosts by Land and by Sea in Wyoming

Last week we will be recording long distance and we can’t wait to be reunited! This week, we are in the heartland of Wyoming to tell you about some spooky legends. Kenzie starts us off with stories from Wyoming Frontier Prison. With the prison's dark history, it's not surprising it is considered one of Wyoming's most haunted places. Afterwards, Lauren tells us about the scary legend of the Death Ship that haunts the Platte River. Legend says if you see the ship it foreshadows the death of you or a loved one. Take a listen to *WY* Wyoming is so haunted!

Cannes Conversations — With OMEN, Baloji clears his name

Belgian rapper-turned-auteur Baloji was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo —  where for some, his name literally means “demon.”  So it’s no surprise that his mind-bending first feature OMEN is all about characters society considers cursed. Baloji tells host Rico Gagliano about this kaleidoscopic debut, the pressures of competition at Cannes, and the scene in PULP FICTION that broke his brain.

Every May, the population of sleepy Cannes, France triples — as film pros and cinephiles from around the globe convene for the two-week movie-thon called the Cannes Film Festival.

For the fourth season of the MUBI Podcast, we sent host Rico Gagliano into the eye of this celluloid storm, accompanied by an intrepid camera crew, to grab interviews with a cross-section of filmmakers who made Cannes 2023 one of the most celebrated in years. Guests include legendary director Wim Wenders, perennial Cannes favorites Kleber Mendonca Filho and Monia Chokri, and a slew of new filmmakers destined to be world cinema's next wave — from Belgian hip-hopper-turned-auteur Baloji to New York's wry boundary-smasher Joanna Arnow. Episodes air twice weekly.

Immer gerne wieder. Also um was ging's eigentlich? A Haunting In The Hills

SCARED TO DEATH IS EXPLICIT IN EVERY WAY. PLEASE TAKE CARE WHILE LISTENING.

Dan's first story takes us to Maine - set in a remote farm somewhere near the 100 mile wilderness area of the Appalachian Trail. Rural isolation adding to the horror for one very unlucky family.  Then, the short story of the the Delhi Purple Sapphire, also known as the Cursed Amethyst - an allegedly haunted object. Lynze tells us three tales. The first two are real head scratcher's and will leave you with questions. The final tale is so creepy- just wait for it!

    Opening Sumerian protection spell (adapted):
"Whether thou art a ghost that hath come from the earth, or a phantom of night that hath no home… or one that lieth dead in the desert… or a ghost unburied… or a demon or a ghoul… Whatever thou be until thou art removed… thou shalt find here no water to drink… Thou shalt not stretch forth thy hand to our own… Into our house enter thou not. Through our fence, breakthrough thou not… we are protected though we may be frightened.  Our life you may not steal, though we may feel SCARED TO DEATH."

Dynamite Conspiracies - Was the "Mothman" an omen or prank? What is the beast roaming Bodmin Moor?

Dynamite Conspiracies - Was the "Mothman" an omen or prank? What is the beast roaming Bodmin Moor?

In this episode, the boys have another of their popular Dynamite Conspiracy episodes, where they discuss the Mothman! Who or what is it?

Then they discuss the beast of Bodmin Moor in England. Was there a beast roaming the moor and killing livestock? Again Tony and Tayo discuss this strange occurrence

What was going on here? What is being covered up if anything?

But what are your thoughts on these topics? Is the evidence described enough to conclude the Mothman was real or not? Or do you have alternate views?
And what was the beast on Bodmin Moor after so many sightings?

And do you agree with Tony and Tayo on these at all?

Tune in and listen to the discussion - and please let us have your thoughts on the subject.

Although we much prefer effusive praise 😉 on our Facebook page, we enjoy and appreciate any feedback you might care to leave, so please have at it. If your comments cause outrage or apoplexy, we'll probably have you on the show because we're weird like that. 😁

History of the Falname (Book of Omens) with Rachel Parikh

In this episode, Isabelle Imbert welcomes Dr Rachel Parikh, doctor in Islamic and Indian art history and curator specialised in arms and armours. Rachel and Isabelle started talking and didn’t see the time go by, ending up with a very long episode. After a vote on Instagram, it was decided that the episode would be divided in two, Part 1 focusing on Rachel’s career, her research on the Falnama manuscript in the Khalili collection, and her shift to curating, while Part 2 will be dedicated solely to arms and armours.

    Dreamville & J. Cole - D-Day Album Review

    Dreamville & J. Cole - D-Day Album Review

What started out as an idea between J. Cole and his team back in the early days of his career, Dreamville Records has become one of the biggest hip hop record labels/supergroups in the music industry.

While the label has been distributed through Interscope since 2014, and was founded all the back in 2007, it wasn’t until 2019 when the world started to actually recognize what they were capable of with “Revenge of the Dreamers III”. Critically acclaimed and beloved by rap fans from all regions, this album single-handedly shot Dreamville all the way up to being one of hottest rap labels in the game.

Just in time for their annual festival in Cole’s home state of North Carolina, Dreamville has returned with a Gangsta Grillz themed mixtape, called “D-Day”. Scaling it back with the features this time around, “D-Day” is a much more raw offering from the supergroup.

Here is our review of “D-Day” by Dreamville Records.

    Date Recorded: April 10th, 2022.
