Pause for Reflection: Soul Lessons during Political Division

Pause for Reflection: Soul Lessons during Political Division

In this week’s Pause for Reflection, I will be talking about politics; how could I not? But, I will be talking about it from an emotional and spiritual perspective. I have strong opinions (and they do not include being a fan of Trump’s — you have been forewarned). I share thoughts on why anger matters, why it is so easy to have compassion and empathy for like-minded people, and how important it is to explore empathy for those with whom we have radically different opinions. I explore the difference between old souls and young souls and what it is we might be here to learn because I keep hearing that our souls chose this time in history. What would it mean if we were to “climb a wall of empathy” and might that be an important part of how we find our way through? All questions and no answers, but the questions are often the most important place to start.

Lynne: Athlete, Activist & Recovering Porn Addict

Lynne: Athlete, Activist & Recovering Porn Addict

Lynne was first exposed to pornography when she stumbled upon it on the family computer when she was 8 years old. She didn’t seek it out again until she was a teenager, when at the age of 16, she experienced a traumatic event that resulted in her turning to porn as a coping mechanism. Her porn consumption escalated throughout her years in college where it affected her relationships and pursuit of hobbies. Her addiction pushed her deeper and deeper into isolation, until she got the courage to tell the truth about her struggle to her boyfriend. Hear Lynne explain to podcast host, Garrett Jonsson, about her experience struggling with pornography and how the understanding and support of loved ones has lead her to be porn-free for over 270 days.
