The First Great Awakening Part 2 - The Fields Are White For Harvest

The First Great Awakening Part 2 - The Fields Are White For Harvest

The American colonies had fallen into spiritual apathy, and they desperately needed to be stirred up again. God answered this need with the First Great Awakening. George Whitefield was a university student who came to know God in a powerful way and then set out to help others know Him too. After helping bring revival to England, Whitefield felt God calling him to preach in the colonies. There, he found the fields ready for harvest because God had already been working through other church leaders. The first such church leader was Theodorus Frelinghuysen.

The Most Haunted Location in America? Gettysburg, Pa - Part 1: The Orphanage

The Most Haunted Location in America? Gettysburg, Pa - Part 1: The Orphanage

The Most Haunted Location in America? Gettysburg, Pa - Part 1: The Orphanage Is Gettysburg, Pa. the most haunted location in America. The Battle of Gettysburg, fought from July 1 to July 3, 1863, was a huge moment in the American Civil War. It involved the Union Army of the Potomac, commanded by General George G. Meade, and the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia, led by General Robert E. Lee. The battle resulted in a significant turning point for the Union, marking a major defeat for the Confederacy and setting the stage for their eventual surrender.

By the end of the Battle of Gettysburg, both sides had suffered staggering casualties. The Union had around 23,000 soldiers killed, wounded, or missing, while the Confederate losses totaled approximately 28,000. The three-day battle was a turning point in the war, as it halted General Lee's advance into Northern territory and boosted the Union's morale.

Which has sparked many reports of ghosts and hauntings.

We embark on a spine-tingling, and comedic journey into the reported paranormal phenomena that have plagued this hallowed ground. In this episode, we focus on the haunted location known as "The Orphanage."

Hope Children's Home - A Modern Day Orphanage

Hope Children's Home - A Modern Day Orphanage

On the 69th episode of The Paul Cardall Podcast, Hope Children's Home Administrative Director Matt Higgins joins Paul to discuss a modern day orphanage. Founded in 1968, Hope Children’s Home has rescued nearly 5,000 children between the ages of infant to 18 years of age. They discuss their belief that a personal relationship with Christ, combined with an excellent education and a well-rounded sports program is the key to Hope’s success.

    ABOUT HOPE CHILDREN'S HOME

Founded in 1968, Hope Children’s Home has rescued nearly 5,000 children between the ages of infant to 18 years of age. The type of children we care for are not juvenile delinquents, but rather children that, through no fault of their own, find themselves in a situation of needed rescue. Some children simply come out of a situation where a parent just needs a little help.

Whether it’s our campus in Tampa, New Mexico, or Honduras, each child is equally important in God’s eyes and ours. Each campus is able to care for the children in a beautiful family atmosphere while instilling core Christian values.

We believe that a personal relationship with Christ, combined with an excellent education and a well-rounded sports program is the key to Hope’s success. Our school program begins in our Nursery and continues through the 12th grade. We are proud to say that over 95% of the students who graduate from Hope Christian School continue to college.

Hope Children’s Home receives no State or Federal funding but rather is entirely supported by churches, private individuals, businesses, and organizations. The faith that we exercise each and every day for our needs is a faith that is passed on to the children as they see God’s hand of provision. The children see first-hand that God will never leave them nor forsake them.

For over 50 years, Hope Children’s Home has lovingly cared for children in need and tried to make a difference in their very impressionable lives. We feel that God has called us to help rebuild the broken lives of these children and to build the bridge, when possible, between home, parent, and child. The rewards of our labor are the thousands of children across the country who are now productive adults raising their own children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
