HOMEGROWN: G Flip Reveals Songwriting Secrets & Tour Tales

Matty O welcomes the phenomenal G Flip to Triple M Homegrown for a reunion like no other. Travel back in time to the duo's cherished days on community radio, where the airwaves danced to their beats and their camaraderie was forged.

G Flip, not just a musician but a storyteller, unravels the rich tapestry of their Melbourne homecomings. Feel the fizz of a freshly poured Carlton Draught and the comfort of a hearty pub parma. Discover the city's hidden gems and the nostalgia it evokes in a globe-trotting artist.

The rhythm of the drums isn't just a sound; for G Flip, it's the pulse of their music. Dive deep into the making of 'Drummer', their latest album that wears its heartbeat on its sleeve. Unpack the layers of their songwriting, from the percussive core to the lyrical soul, and hear about the Springsteen magic that sprinkled onto the tracks.

Gig tales? G Flip has them in spades. Revel in the joy of their upcoming Australian tour, especially the euphoria of taking the stage at the legendary Forum Theatre in Melbourne. For G Flip, it's not just a performance venue; it's a dream realized.

But it's not all music; there's footy passion too. Will G Flip jet set from the US to Melbourne for the AFL grand final, cheering for their beloved Collingwood? Tune in to find out. Plus, get ready to chuckle as they recount the quirkiest spots they've caught a footy match while touring internationally.

Journey further down the rabbit hole with the 'Memory Lane' segment. Unearth stories of spontaneous friendships, like with Ruby Fields at Splendor In The Grass, wild nights with Lewis Capaldi, and a grand spectacle alongside Robbie Williams at the AFL grand final.

Matty, being a keen observer, shares his awe at G Flip's stellar Logies performance with Peking Duk. And for a fun twist, dive into a whimsical game of 'Write, Party, Dinner'. If given a choice between legends like Stevie Nicks, Alanis Morissette, and Powderfinger, who would G Flip collaborate with, party with, or share a meal with?

The finale is a treat for every classic rock aficionado. Join G Flip as they take you inside 'The Slope' studios in LA, an establishment Fleetwood Mac built post the success of 'Rumours'. Experience the mystique of the Stevie Nicks-inspired decor and the entrancing play of mirrors that adorn this iconic space.

Whether you're a music enthusiast, a footy fan, or someone seeking hearty conversations, this episode is a melodic blend of passion, memories, and dreams. Join in for an unforgettable ride!

    Episode 10 - Reuben Styles

    Episode 10 - Reuben Styles

This is our last episode of season 2 & it's a winner..! We had the chance to catch up with one half of the legendary Aussie band Peking Duk - Mr. Reuben Styles - who has kicked off his side project called Y.O.G.A. or "you're only great always"

Reuben's side project is not just a chance for him to dive into something new but a chance to unite people that are willing to talk about their Mental Health journeys as a part of the Y.O.G.A. community. We highly recommend people go and check it out.

Huge thanks to Reuben for taking the time to chat with us and we hope you enjoy!
