    Heb jij last van :

    • brain fog

It’s no news to you, cancer treatment is a very serious matter. It’s complicating enough for the patient, the family, and the effort of the healthcare team.

Now healthcare professionals around the world are witnessing a marked increase in cancer frequency, and it is affecting all ages. This aggressive change has Dr. Nathan
Goodyear not only referencing the cancer of today as a turbo cancer, but the dawn of anew delineation. Cancer before and now cancer AFTER COVID.

Dr. Goodyear shares why the biggest obstacle for effective treatment is obfuscation, and the best remedy is truth and open dialogue amongst caregivers without threat
    of suppression.

Long COVID – Part 1 of 2, What We Know, What We are Learning

Long COVID – Part 1 of 2, What We Know, What We are Learning

Dr. Heather Prendergast, an emergency medicine physician, Dr. Stephanie LaBedz, a pulmonary and critical care physician, and Dr. Christina Wells, a family medicine physician, all from the University of Illinois at Chicago, share their experiences and insights on long COVID.  Their goal is to help primary care physicians be more equipped in dealing with patients who present with long COVID symptoms.

We know COVID-19 vaccines help reduce the chances of developing severe cases of COVID and long COVID.  However, approximately 1 in 5 adults that have COVID are at risk of developing long COVID.  The symptoms may present in many ways, often not directly after having COVID.  That can delay the diagnosis in a lot of patients.  Individuals can have relatively mild courses, or even be asymptomatic, and still develop symptoms associated or consistent with long COVID.

It is important to understand the broad differential, listen to patients when they say, "Something doesn't feel right," and be familiar with the full variety of symptoms in order to help our patients.
    Topics include:
    -
What is long COVID – what does that really mean?
    - Clarification on what is commonly referred to as long COVID
    - Some of the most common symptoms of long COVID
    - Overview of major systems that are impacted

What should I know as a family physician?
When should I refer a patient to a specialist?
    What are common complications?
Are there any treatments I should be aware of?
Are certain patients more susceptible to getting long COVID?

     Meet the Faculty

    Learning Objectives:
    Understand what long COVID is
Identify the most common symptoms of long COVID
Determine the best ways to assist patients presenting with long COVID symptoms
Recognize the impacts long COVID can have on multiple systems in the body

Long Covid und ME/CFS - akustisch reduzierte Fassung
The Correlation of Post-Covid Syndrome to Brain Dysfunction

The Correlation of Post-Covid Syndrome to Brain Dysfunction

    Show Summary:

"Without pharmaceuticals and surgery, we use external methods to rehab an injured brain. And I reached that point where we see semblances of post-concussion syndrome with these long COVID cases. It mimics brain injury."

Covid-19 is originally known as a respiratory disease. And since it broke out, there have been growing studies and anecdotal evidence from the ground that it also hurts the other body systems.

Experiencing its devastating effects months after her recovery, Juanique has hypothesized that Covid-19 acts like the Epstein-Barr virus, where it awakens other dormant viruses in your body. As a related result, it has caused mood disorders and absurd neurological symptoms that unaware doctors would dismiss with a prescription of antibiotics or antidepressants.

Holding a niche practice, Dr. Kenneth Oliver is a chiropractic neurologist who rehabilitates brain injuries and neurological dysfunction through external modalities such as electromagnetic impulses, radiofrequency, and low-level laser therapies. He will also shed light on the latest findings in post-Covid cases based on medical journals and his daily patient consultations.

If health has worsened since you or a loved one had Covid, you can't miss Episode 43 of the Gutsy Health Podcast!

    Exceptional Highlights:

    • Patients with unexplainable issues tend to point to their history of being stricken with Covid, having an adverse reaction to its vaccine, or a combination of both.
    • Doctors have learned and are willing to share more about this destructive virus, but censorship of public information has also been challenging.
    • Covid causes a loss of microbiome diversity which hastens the spread of spike protein in other body systems.

    Show Highlights:

PubMed is a MeSH database that provides access to medical abstracts

    Dr. Oliver 08:40

    • After typing 'Covid AND Neurological Dysfunctions', it pulled up 5000 articles that are accessible to learn about these two topics together.

Journal finding of how Covid can critically cause nervous system dysfunction

    Dr. Oliver 19:05

    • The biggest issue with the virus is that it destroys the Blood-Brain Barrier (BBB), which leads to susceptibility to brain inflammation.

A compromised BBB can severely affect random parts of the brain

    Dr: Oliver 33:06

    • A BBB Permeability Test identifies the exact areas of damage, which can come in various neuropsychiatric forms such as ADHD, cognitive deficits, suicidality, seizures, epilepsy, and psychosis.

Michael Wood: Immigration Minister on skilled migrant visa reopening after pandemic

Michael Wood: Immigration Minister on skilled migrant visa reopening after pandemic

The Government's today resumed selections for skilled migrant and parent visas - key residence categories effectively closed during the pandemic.

It's also starting consultation on a simplified points system, where artificially constraining regulations will take a backseat to an applicant's skills. For instance, applicants won't get 30 extra points for living somewhere besides Auckland anymore.

Immigration Minister Michael Wood says unless we target top talent, our economy will go backwards, so focus on worker's specialised skills is critical.
