Romans 1-3 | Exploring Faith and Righteousness

Romans 1-3 | Exploring Faith and Righteousness

Ever wonder how different cultures perceive and relate to God? Join us as we journey through the fascinating church in Rome, a melting pot of Jews and Gentiles, exploring how their interactions with God differed, and yet, interestingly intersected. We'll reveal how some, in their quest for self-gratification, chose to deviate and sculpt their own gods. Get ready to delve into Paul’s insightful critique of both Jews and Gentiles, underlining our shared need for forgiveness and grace through Jesus.

We're taking you on a thrilling journey through Paul's letters to the Romans, retracing his travels through Macedonia and Greece. Feel his anticipation as he yearns to visit Rome while still harnessing the power of the Gospel. We'll tackle the controversial topic of God's wrath and its consequences on those who reject Him, before reminding everyone of a central truth: God doesn't play favorites and all will be judged by their deeds. Then, we'll cap the episode off with a deep dive into faith and righteousness, especially concerning Jews and Gentiles, sparking an enlightening conversation about God's unwavering faithfulness. So, buckle up for an episode jam-packed with enlightening discussions, profound realizations, and a fresh perspective on faith and righteousness.

Romans 1 starts by emphasizing the power of the Gospel as the revelation of God's righteousness and the salvation for all who believe. Paul addresses the sinful nature of humanity, describing how people rejected God, leading to idolatry, immorality, and various vices. He highlights God's righteous judgment against these behaviors and how individuals exchanged the truth of God for lies, resulting in moral degradation. Paul condemns both the Gentiles and Jews for their sinful ways, highlighting the universality of sin and the need for redemption through faith in Christ.

Romans 2 stresses the accountability of all individuals before God, emphasizing that both Jews and Gentiles will face judgment based on their deeds. Paul addresses hypocrisy, emphasizing that outward rituals or knowledge of the Law without obedience hold no value if one fails to live according to God's standards. He emphasizes the importance of true circumcision of the heart rather than outward symbols. Paul underlines that it's the doers of the Law, not merely hearers, who will be justified before God.

Romans 3 continues by highlighting that all, both Jews and Gentiles, are under sin and fall short of God's glory. Paul reaffirms that no one is righteous on their own, and the Law serves to reveal sin rather than provide justification. He emphasizes the righteousness that comes through faith in Jesus Christ, available to all who believe, as the way to salvation. Paul concludes that God's righteousness

Creating a Family Culture of Freedom with Rachel Lozano, Jenn Lozano, and Jacqueline Harper

Creating a Family Culture of Freedom with Rachel Lozano, Jenn Lozano, and Jacqueline Harper

"And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. " Luke 15:20

The father saw the son coming from far off, not so close that he would recognize his face, but he saw the son's gait and his stature and he recognized him.

There are two things there, one, that he recognized his son by just the outline of his body, and, and two, that he was looking for his son.

As parents, as moms, as dads, we can be looking for things in our children, looking for their hearts, listening to their hearts and seeing them, really seeing them.

So today join Rachel, Jenn, and Jacqueline as they share a little bit about walking through the mud of parenting and how the Lord comes and rescues. Embrace with them the joy of walking with some tools, especially those of forgiveness and blessing, while looking and listening for those moments to really see our kids.

Learn to let the power of the gospel and the responses of the five keys become a part of your family culture.

Blessing becomes a part of your life in big events like birthdays and graduations, but also in an everyday part of your life where you're looking- How can I speak blessing and truth into my kids' lives? How can we speak about their identity?  That's all about what Unbound is- stripping away what our identity isn't and stepping into what our identity really is!

"Being heard is so close to being loved that for the average person, they are almost indistinguishable. "

    It's Still The Cross

    It's Still The Cross
Our guest preacher, Dr. Johnny Hunt, teaches through 1 Corinthians 1:17-25, and we get to dig into the reason behind our hope. Dr. Hunt teaches us that the cross is the heart of the gospel, and the central theme of Gods plan in our salvation. We see all over scripture that the message of the cross is dynamic, and the wisdom of God is demonstrated through that message. The gospel is foolish to someone who has not been saved and does not believe, but as we personally share the gospel, God gives us the message and the power for the person to hear the wisdom. Our changed life and our story are a powerful part of God’s plan. Jesus came to deal with our sin issue, and no matter the situation you’re in and the time we live in, the answer is still the cross. Special Guest: Dr. Johnny Hunt.

Little Letters, Big Truths | Philemon

Little Letters, Big Truths | Philemon
We begin a new sermon series where we explore tiny books in the bible that carry big truths. Take Philemon, where seemingly the bible is condoning slavery, and it may seem like a weird book to include in the New Testament. Well, the term bondservant in this instance of the Bible is not what we in America things of as a slave. Rather than proclaiming a seemingly powerless political mandate, Jesus ultimately shows it is only the power of the gospel that could conquer evil systems such as slavery, and we see that God’s desire is for all of Philemons’ to become radically generous in their participation in the mission of God. What are some specific things you could change in the area of your giving and serving? What kind of generosity is your faith demanding? A Gospel That Transforms - Micah Hackett

A Gospel That Transforms - Micah Hackett

This week's message is all about the transforming power of the gospel - the power to transform lives as well as destinies. Micah Hackett, a young man who we featured last week on our broadcast, looks at this transforming power in three aspects – the power to change the sinner’s condition before God, to change the sinner’s relationship with God, and to change the sinner’s position in God’s reckoning. In our helpless and hopeless state, this is the power we don’t have, but it is the power readily available to us through our Lord Jesus Christ. Though Micah is not with us anymore to proclaim the gospel personally, we trust that the recorded words of this young man will convince you that salvation is real and that it’s something that you, if you don’t know Christ already, desperately need. Receive the grace offered to you through Christ, even today. Tomorrow may be too late.
