Psalm 57 - God sings
I cry out to God Most High, to God, who vindicates me. He sends from heaven and saves me, rebuking those who hotly pursue me— God sends forth his love and his faithfulness. Psalms 57:2-3
"and call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me.” Psalms 50:15
Psalm 57 is another example of David NEEDING God's help and protection. David is being pursued by Saul and his guards who kill all who helped David, including priests, children and villagers. As a result, David is forced into hiding in a cave and tries to find safety for his family and followers.
AW Tozer writes and reminds us, "God is having a good time in His role. And so let us not think anymore of God as being heavy-browed and gloomy. I repeat that when God made the heaven and earth they sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy. There wasn’t a funeral at the creation of the world; there was an anthem. All creation sang."
Remember Psalm 50:15, God counts it praise for us to ask for His help! Just like He wanted to help David, so God wants to help us! Join me in reading Psalm 57 and be encouraged!
