Being a Cop in Today's Society w Zeek Arkham Part 2

Being a Cop in Today's Society w Zeek Arkham Part 2
Zeek Arkham isn't your normal cop. Especially at NYPD where the New York City Mayor and other politicians work hard to bully and suppress opinions that don't align with their own.

But Zeek is tired of that environment and recently reached a point where he had to speak out. So he became active on social media, especially Twitter (@zeekarkham), where he has over 30,000 followers, and he started a podcast called Reasonable Suspicion. He calls himself a CWA (Cop With Attitude) and he definitely lives up to the name!

Most importantly though, Zeek is strait up honest and brutally truthful about what is happening to law enforcement in today's society, and why all of us should care. What's it like making a split second decision that could literally lead to life or death for you or another person? How frustrating is it to be constantly questioned and second-guessed by people who have never been in law enforcement or even picked up a weapon, let alone done a course on it?

Out of My Dreams, Into My Car

Out of My Dreams, Into My Car

This week's episode is slightly abbreviated, because Nazim is injured and can't laugh without screaming in pain.  With that in mind, the case of Kansas v. Glover is discussed, which asks whether the police can assume the registered driver of a vehicle is the driver of that vehicle before performing a stop.  It's both more and less complicated than it sounds.  Law starts at (07:50), and we're covering the DACA case next week.

Episode 102 - Does EE Need Some Fatalities?

Episode 102 - Does EE Need Some Fatalities?

Welcome to episode 102. Today's show considers the importance of EE in terms of developing competencies for graduates to enable them to successfully engage in entrepreneurial action. If the ideas discussed provoke some thinking for you, please share on Twitter, or perhaps better, at Linkenin. Just search 'tasdevilcol' on either platform and you will see the episode posting and hopefully, related comments.

    Courageous Conversations around menopause

    Courageous Conversations around menopause

Julie Dennis is a menopause trainer and works with organisations across the UK to introduce menopause as an inclusive topic, educate managers and improve the experience of women working through menopause.

In this podcast, we talk about:

    - getting the conversations started (and that can be really difficult)
    - asking for help in the workplace
    - framework that organisations can put in place to support
    - reasonable adjustments

'I think it's because it hasn't been talked about in the past, it's a fairly new topic in discussions although menopause is not new!'

'The conversation about menopause is an inclusive topic.'

We're a True Crime Podcast Now

We're a True Crime Podcast Now

Brett and Nazim have gone big-time, as this week's episode covers Flowers v. Mississippi, a criminal Batson challenge case that's far more famous for being ripe for podcast commentary.  In place of ephemeral music and gotcha journalism, Brett and Nazim talk about the criminal justice system, Batson challenges, jury selection, and Clarence Thomas talking at oral argument.  Law starts at (06:32).

Episode 12: Stop and Think with Michael Schaffer
