    Cannabis and Fear!
Welcome back! Rate, subscribe, and please tell us what you like and don’t like!

Happy Halloween! I Llloooooove this time of year!!

So we decided to talk about a Halloween related topic…FEAR!!

Why are we talking about fear?

It affects so many of us!!! Depending on how you handle your fear, it can help or hurt you.

Fear, in appropriate circumstances, is a natural and protective response.

However, when fear responses are disproportionate to the danger, persistent, or interfere with daily life, they can become problematic, often manifesting as anxiety disorders, phobias, or PTSD.

    ….IT’S ALSO HALLOWEEN!!

Discussing fear is important for several reasons:

    1. Mental Health: Understanding fear helps in addressing various mental health issues. -Recognizing when fear becomes paralyzing or chronic can be the first step toward seeking help and finding coping strategies.

    2. Social and Cultural Understanding: Fears can be collective and influence social or cultural groups broadly, affecting behavior, decision-making, and relationships on larger scales. Conversations around this will be helpful for the broader good!!

    3. Personal Growth: On an individual level, confronting and understanding one’s fears can be a pathway to personal development, fostering qualities like resilience, empathy, and courage.

    FlowerPower: Fittest at 40!!

    FlowerPower: Fittest at 40!!

    FlowerPower: Fittest at 40!!

Welcome to the new spin-off inaugural episode!!

Goal! This show will be a bit different than the regular show…this will about a journey!

Why am I doing this? What’s my goal?

My goal is to be as fit as I’ve ever been in my life by the age of 40 years old, with the support of cannabis.

Measurable-s? My actions and routines…along with general strength measurables (endurance timing, strength gains, weights/bmi changes, etc).

    Why?

First and foremost, to prove to myself I can do this.

I want to leave something for my kids…documentation of more positive influence I’ve left in the world…energy, and good vibes that I’m tossing out there.

There is no action that is too small…they all count!

I Progressively have been fitter every 10 years…and I want to see how long I can keep that up.

    -I’m curious! :)

I also believe that if as a society we take time to focus on holistic health, we will thrive as a community and that positive energy has a ripple effect.

There’s buzz that “40 is the new 30,” and i want people to believe that they can be their best again mentally, emotionally, physically, etc.

I want to show my kids by example that this is possible, and for them to follow suit.

    How?

-This will be a documentation of my journey.

The main show will remain as is; but this show will include a lot of solo time along with interviews with others.

-I also plan to document more on the website and IG, blogging, so be on the lookout for those.

Topics to discuss? Quit a few!

    Nutrition

    Exercise

    Mental health

    Sleep

    Supplements/alternative therapy

    Environmental health

    Aging …sustainable aging!

    Relationships and social support

    MindBody connection

    Self-care and stress management

Overall feelings and closing statements on the start of this show

Super excited!! Pushing through boundaries and progressing is what life is about

I’m doing this in real-time…so feel free to jump on board with me along this journey

Cannabis will be a supporting actor, but not the main character…those will be the actions!

Why? Because this is how cannabis, in my opinion, is best utilized to optimize life…not when your getting blazed 24/7 beyond any actionable capability…but when you’re using cannabis as a supporting actor to assist you with progressing your life forward.

I’ve experienced this personally, so now I want to share more of that with you.

Look out for the first episode drop (same RSS Feed here, you don’t need to go anywhere)

….and also as always…Lmk what you think!!!

    Cannabis and Wake n’ Bake!

    Cannabis and Wake n’ Bake!

    Cannabis and Wake n’ Bake!

Good Morning! Welcome back! Thank you all for your support!

If you’ve been enjoying our content and want to support us, it’s easy! Really easy actually….just click that like button!!

THOUGHT!!!! If just for ONE episode…each of you that are listening decided to do that, it would be so impactful!

Remember..:Those likes get our information out to the world, and more people find out about the good word on cannabis…

But above all, THANK YOU joining us again this week, or if your first time, thank you for that also!

This topic is both fun AND important to imo.

What does it mean to “wake and bake” in cannabis?

The term "wake and bake" refers to the practice of consuming cannabis first thing in the morning.

This can be done by smoking, vaping, eating, or drinking cannabis products.

Some people choose to wake and bake because it helps them to start their day off on a positive note…they find that it helps them to focus, be more creative, and/or manage chronic pain.

Why are we talking about this today?

As are most of these topics, this one is personal for me!

FIRST AND FOREMOST…STARTING YOUR DAY RIGHT IS UBER IMPORTANT!!

Health and Safety: let’s make sure we practice this safely, so we don’t make a worse name for the event….you know?

    De-stigmatization and Education:

Let’s talk about this so we can share the good news of wake n bakes, and destigmatize it!

Responsible Use and Understanding: responsible, conscious use is key here…and if you don’t get that right routinely, then that’s when you become a stoner…

Passion in Action: Meredith Buettner's Impact on Pennsylvania's Cannabis Industry

Learn how passion led Meredith Buettner to walk away from her self-started political fundraising business to become the Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Cannabis Coalition.

Meredith’s experience in political campaigns and public administration has shaped her into the perfect woman to lead the Coalition—with Metro Philly recognizing her as a Cannabis Power Player in 2022.

She was instrumental in the passage of Act 44, the most extensive update to Pennsylvania's medical marijuana statute since its passage.

As a one-woman show, Meredith leads members, lobbyists, and legislators to a common ground by paying attention to their concerns, effectively communicating, and giving them the knowledge to form their own opinions.

We have a good one for you today….for those that are in both legal and NON-legal states!!

Remember the delta-8 craze? Then the THC-O and HHC stage?

Well this one in my opinion is the coolest one yet, so we had to do a show on it!

Canny-cons tend to love science, so we’re going on a nerd ride today talking about ACIDIC CANNABINOIDS (CBDa, CBGa, and THCa).

Mainly, we’re going to be talking about the hot one in the news recently, THCa!

    Why is this topic important?

As I usually say….”FOR SO MANY REASONS!!” :)

Cool fact: THCa is the first cannabinoid that I can think of that has benefits for both psychoactive AND non-psychoactive experiences!

Overall, this naturally cannabinoid has showed a ton of promise and is an ANGEL SENT FROM THE HEAVENS for those in states where cannabis is not yet legal.

Navigating a Medical Cannabis Career Amid Recreational Legalization

As recreational marijuana is readied to be legalized in Maryland come July, there will still be a demand for medical cannabis. Catrena Almonte, MS ’21, is a graduate from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy’s MS in Medical Cannabis Science and Therapeutics program housed at the Universities at Shady Grove, and she is preparing for the next steps in her cannabis career as laws continue to change. Almonte describes how her experience in the military as a chaplain candidate led her to studying medical cannabis. Almonte shares why there will still be a need for medical cannabis in light of recreational marijuana’s availability, and how she wants to combine her research on cannabis with clinical psychology and clinical psychopharmacology.

Listen more about the legal and public health impact of the upcoming July 1 legalization of recreational marijuana in Maryland on Virtual Face to Face featuring Leah Sera, PharmD, MA, BCPS, associate professor and co-director of the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy’s first-in-the-nation MS in Medical Cannabis Science and Therapeutics program, and Mathew Swinburne, JD, research associate with the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, who has worked closely with legislative committees crafting Maryland’s cannabis legislation.

Cannabis: Medical vs. Recreational- What's the difference?

Cannabis: Medical vs. Recreational- What's the difference?

Cannabis: Medical vs. Recreational - What’s the difference?

Welcome back! As cannabis use/legalization continues to expand across the country, we thought we’d touch upon the differences between a medical cannabis dispensary experience, and a recreational one.

****disclaimer- depending on where you live, the specifics may vary widely, my goal is to provide an overview of the broad, general differences.****

in fact- you’ll see the differences here just between jack and I

    Why is this topic important?

-I think when you’re getting into cannabis, a dispensary is a dispensary is a dispensary…and that may be the case for some people, but not for all.

-it’s important to know your needs, and then from there, move towards the location that will best fit those needs (recreational or medical).

-also, not knowing or understanding the difference may be intimidating enough for someone to not want to walk into either, which may not help anyone!

    Tune in for more…

Is Recreational Marijuana Good and Wise?

Is Recreational Marijuana Good and Wise?

Marijuana, once considered a gateway drug, has now gone mainstream, both medically and recreationally. But why, and is this a good and wise choice? Medical marijuana may offer some benefits for those suffering various pains, but research is not at all complete, nor is "the science settled." Plus, there may be safer alternatives. The choice to use medical marijuana should be made carefully. Recreationally, it seems Americans have forgotten why marijuana was outlawed in the first place, that there were indeed good reasons for doin so. Recreation can turn into negative personal and social side-effects very quickly. From a Christian perspective, it's a good topic for Christian liberty discussions, not everything that is permissible may be beneficial.
