Episode 078 - Steve Smith // Caliber Red

A fellow classmate joins me on this episode of the podcast. Steve Smith and I graduated from Hobart High School in 1978. Steve and his band Caliber Red have been rocking the Desert Southwest for well over a decade. Their hard rock songs are featured along with a special song that pays homage to a term that is synonymous with our hometown of Hobart, Indiana. And no it's not the Brickie anthem "Our Boys Will Shine Tonight." What song is it?  You'll have to listen and see as Steve Smith is my guest and he's "Someone You Should Know"

#78: What is an Octopussy? (Jim Gordon)

Jim Gordon was ranked 59 on Rolling Stone's list of 100 Greatest Drummers of all time. He was a famous session drummer in the 1960s and 1970s who played with the likes of Eric Clapton, Joe Cocker, Derek and the Dominos, and The Everly Brothers. Unfortunately, this is a true crime podcast so this story does not have a happy ending.

Episode 052 - Ivan Bodley aka Funkboy

Ever dream of playing with a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer?  Today's guest has played with more than 50 of them.  He's also been part of over a dozen Broadway musicals.  Additionally, he's in the Blues Hall of Fame. If that isn't enough, he has a book and podcast called "Am I Famous Yet? - Memoir of a Working-Class Rock Star." Who is this blessed musician? He's bassist Ivan "Funkboy" Bodley and he's definitely Someone You Should Know.

EP 8 Kidnapped & Missing: Crimes and Misdemeanors Pt. 2

EP 8 Kidnapped & Missing: Crimes and Misdemeanors Pt. 2

This is not a full episode as I'm on the road to Aiea, Hawai'i to visit the Forty-Niner diner and learn how the island's cost of living is forcing many native Hawaiians to leave the state.

Last week's episode (EP 7) was called Crimes and Misdemeanors and was recorded at Randy's Southside Diner in Grand Junction, CO., one of America's top crime communities.

After I recorded the podcast, I checked into a local hotel for the night and hit the lounge for a night cap. I started talking to a guy in the bar, told him why I was in Grand Junction, and he laugh and said, "I got a story for you."

This is Keth's story.  Hope you enjoy it. Back with a new full episode next week!
