Witchcraft in the 21st century Â

Witchcraft in the 21st century Â

The witch is a figure that has been around for a long time in many cultures, stretching back to ancient times. In the West, witches have re-appeared in stories for centuries: from Macbeth, to Salem, to Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

But in the 21st-century, witches — and the practices associated with them — are being re-appraised, both as a form of contemporary spiritual practice, and a frame to study historical crimes against women.

In the season 3 premiere of the AIPT Movies podcast, Alex, Tim, and Matt give their first spooky season viewing recommendation, Francis Ford Coppola’s love letter to classic gothic horror, Bram Stoker’s Dracula!

Intense drama and doomed romance! Surprisingly horned up characters! A stacked cast that includes Gary Oldman, Winona Ryder, Anthony Hopkins, Cary Elwes, Richard E. Grant, Sadie Frost, Tom Waits, and a charmingly miscast Keanu Reeves! Iconic use of shadow gags! An unstoppable juggernaut of old-school VFX, stunning creature makeup, and impeccable costume design! Beautiful, colorful cinematography! All around expert craft that truly makes this a “filmmaker’s film!”

In addition, Alex shares his spoiler-free thoughts on his favorites from this year’s Fantastic Fest: The Toxic Anger remake, Strange Darling, Suitable Flesh, V/H/S/85, and Totally Killer!

Courage, Compassion, Kindness & The Many Talents of Your Teen Crush featuring Robby Benson

Courage, Compassion, Kindness & The Many Talents of Your Teen Crush featuring Robby Benson

Robby Benson is living proof that character is destiny, guided by his values, integrity, talent and curiosity, Robby has overcome much to achieve more. He is an actor, writer, producer, director, author, musician, photographer, professor, songwriter, novelist, activist and former teen idol!

Robby’s early screen stardom was just scratching his creative surface and Robby’s immense devotion to his wife and family only deepen his appreciation of life and its gifts.

Robby joins us to talk about his strong family bonds, his collaborations with his fiercely talented wife Karla DeVito, his extraordinary parents, including his Mom who is Fritz’s upstairs neighbor. We eagerly await that sit-com.

For hardcore Robby Benson heartthrob film fans, we do get into Ode to Billy Joe, Ice Castles, Lucky Lady and One on One.

Robby also offers a master class in heart health care, sharing his personal journey through four open heart surgeries to correct a congenital defect. In true Robby fashion, he carved his struggle into art, writing the book, “I’m Not Dead…Yet,” which he then adapted into the musical Open Heart.

Robby has directed over 100 episodes of network sitcoms and his first novel, “Who Stole the Funny,” is a fictionalized account of one disturbingly harrowing week he spent on the set of a “make-believe” show.

Robby also joins us for a spirited round of Media Path's favorite pretend game show, “IMDB Roulette”

Robby is currently working on paying tribute to his late father and co-writer, Jerry Segal with a play which will feature their music. Additionally, it’s still top secret but Robby is starring in the second season of Sevarance.

Plus, Fritz and Weezy are recommending The Hollies: Look Through Any Window on FreeVee, Painkiller on Netflix and the Barbie movie.

SB Ep 33: Art of Mysticism - Windows Into the Occult

SB Ep 33: Art of Mysticism - Windows Into the Occult

… An intention is something that is set when we would like to see certain things come to pass. In the art of mysticism, oftentimes such intentions are paired with the use of mediums like: candles, sigils, crystals, oils or many other tools.

But is that enough? While these tools are a great starting point to yield our own power, true impact cannot be created through them alone, but by having a clear intent and more importantly backing that with the energy in motion (emotion). When we see the result of this force it is self-confirming evidence of our own divinity.

Join us during this thinly veiled installment of Soul BBQ as we share our early introductions into the occult, worldly historical applications, ancient ritualism, simple tips for getting started with your own practice, protection methods and more!

Which host do you think uses sex magick???

    Hmmm, let’s talk about it!
