    Unbreakable (2000)

    M. Night Shyamalan's Unbreakable was considered a disappointment when it was released, but that's because no one really knew that it was supposed to be a superhero movie. Bruce Alexander joins Perry to look back on this film and what it could have been if it were better marketed.

    The Incredibles (2004)

    The Incredibles (2004)

A few episodes we covered Incredibles 2 and this week, we get around to The Incredibles! Author John Bruening returns to the show to talk about what has often been called the closest thing we've gotten to the best Fantastic Four movie. We reflect on the film's legacy and how it holds up almost 20 years later.

Visit John's Amazon page to check out his books.

Next week is Christmas and the week after is New Year's, so the show will be taking the next two weeks off. Hope you enjoy your holiday season, regardless of what you celebrate (if anything). Stay safe and we'll see you in 2024.

In this episode, we revisit another forgotten superhero movie from the early aughts. Nic Baldwin of the In Love With Movies podcast is the guest to revisit this little-known film starring Hayden Christensen and Samuel L. Jackson. It's got some moments, but it's unfortunately not the same kind of unrefined gem that the similar Push was.

    Episode 62: PULP FICTION (1994)

It's a '90s-palooza as Jonny and Darin return for Season 4 of NostalgiaCast! We kick off a season-long run of episodes devoted to films of the 1990s (which made us the movie geeks we are today) with a look back at Quentin Tarantino's PULP FICTION, the film that arguably defined the entire decade. But is this indisputably influential black comedy crime thriller still impactful today? Or has its rapid-fire dialogue and time-hopping story structure been dulled during the years since? Grab your Big Kahuna Burger and your fatrher's gold watch and find out!

123: Warm. Warmer. Disco. | Pulp Fiction (1994)

123: Warm. Warmer. Disco. | Pulp Fiction (1994)

Finally we're talking a film from the 90s that created a sub-genre all its own, Pulp Fiction. While you may remember the poster of this film being in every dorm room for 20 years, I remember that iconic Bob from Mia Wallace and the Royale with cheese.

Since Me, Charles, and Jai are big Tarantino fans we had a super blast finally talking this pop culture staple of cinema. We get into the LONG list of actors who tried out for various parts, the subtle but important fashion moments, and I started crying realizing Jack Rabbit Slim's isn't a real place.

Off-topic rants include: the controversy in Charles' life over this soundtrack, parental choices, why I didn't see many 80s movies
