    Hinduism with Sadhviji

    Hinduism with Sadhviji

Thank you for tuning in to Dawn of an Era of Well-Being: The Podcast—now in our third season!

In this exciting new season we will turn our attention to focus on the world’s religions and observe how religious traditions— and their diverse perspectives— can share an active role in bringing us together with common purpose. Too often in the past, religion has been used as a wedge, pitting us against one another; in the era of “Well-Being” we will see how various spiritual practices can also have the opposite effect of uniting us in harmony. In this fashion, it may well be that the ancient wisdom traditions will be at center of the paradigm shift which ushers in a new era!

It has been argued, with good evidence, that Hinduism is the oldest ongoing spiritual tradition on this planet. Its distant and nebulous origins can be traced with some authority to the pre-Vedic period of the Indus Valley civilization, which takes it back to before 1750 BCE—though it probably goes back much farther, perhaps into what we consider “prehistoric” times. As the world’s third largest faith with close to one-and-a-half-billion practitioners, Hinduism is a significant force in world affairs both in current events and throughout history— Siddhartha Gautama was believed to have been an observant Hindu prior to assuming the role of The Buddha.

In order to delve deeper into the fascinating and complex essence of Hinduism, we are honored to have joining us the renowned spiritual leader and motivational speaker, Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswatiji, better known as Sadhviji. Originally from Los Angeles, Sadhviji is a graduate of Stanford University and holds a PhD in psychology. She has lived on the banks of the sacred Ganga river in the lap of the Himalayas for more than twenty-five years, the entire time engaged in spiritual service, wisdom teaching, sacred action, and deep spiritual practice.

Sadhviji is currently based in Rishikesh, India. She is the author of the bestselling memoir, Hollywood to the Himalayas: A Journey of Healing and Transformation, which recounts the joys and challenges that she faced during her journey to enlightenment, and those who helped her on the way.  Now one of the preeminent female spiritual teachers in the world, Sadhviji serves as the Secretary-General of the Global Interfaith WASH Alliance, an international interfaith organization dedicated to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene; President of Divine Shakti Foundation, a foundation that runs free schools, vocational training programs, and empowerment programs; and Director of the world-famous International Yoga Festival at Parmarth Niketan Ashram, Rishikesh—which has been covered in prestigious international publications and has been addressed by both the Prime Minister and Vice President of India.

    Sanskrit Mantras To Improve Intuition

    Sanskrit Mantras To Improve Intuition

Certified Sanskrit Mantra Instructor, Parashakti Jill Jardine, shares Sanskrit Mantras to improve your intuition.  Jill offers this podcast teaching after fielding years of questions from clients and students on "How can I improve my psychic skills?"

Some people are born with natural psychic abilities, either as a result of genetic inheritance (such as those of Celtic ancestry) or because of positive past life karma (called Poorvapunya in Sanskrit).  Astrologers can see if their clients are inclined to above average intuitive abilities from certain astrological signatures in one's natal charts.

Everyone can improve their intuition and develop other spiritual gifts by implementing certain practices such as: performing acts of kindness, generosity, Karma Yoga (or selfless service), healing others, and practicing the eight limbs of Yoga, and other ancient proven healing techniques, such as chanting Sanskrit mantra.  We can develop "siddhis" or special spiritual powers by rightly performing the "Yamas" and "Niyamas" of the Yoga Sutras and following the ethical and moral codes of any religious scriptures, such as the Buddhist Four Noble Truths and Eightfold Path.

One can also develop intuition by working with archetypal symbolic systems  such as the Tarot, Astrology, Palmistry, I Ching ,and other oracular systems.

Chanting Sanskrit Mantra is an ancient sacred tradition to improve intuition and develop other spiritual gifts. Here are some mantras that are proven to help:

    1) GUM:  seed (bija) mantra to Ganesha, to remove obstacles

    2) EIMseed (bija) mantra to Saraswati, goddess of creative wisdom and divine knowledge

    3) OM EIM SARASWATIYEI SWAHAfoundation or mula mantra to Saraswati, goddess of divine wisdom. Governs all spiritual pursuits, gives mantras their power. Good for education, musical and artistic endeavors and makes any project successful.

    4) SAT CHID EKAM BRAHMA: Mantra to Brahma, the great Creator.  Sat=Truth; Chid=Spiritual mind stuff; Ekam= one, without a second; Brahma=This entire cosmos, with all its contents, sometimes also called Brahman, the state of conscious existence that is one with everything

    5) OM GAJA KARNAKAYA NAMAHA:  Ganesha mantra to remove obstacles. One can sit anywhere and tune this cosmic television (the body) with seven channels (chakras), and all 72,000 nadis, to any loka and be able to hear ancestors, angels, the voice of God, or the voice of the prophets.  (per Sanskrit Mantra Guru, Satguru Sant Keshavadas in his book, Lord Ganesha).

    6) OM BHALACHANDRAYA NAMAHA: In Sanskrit, bhala means the forehead center. Chandra means the crescent moon.  Bhalachandra means that chakra from where the nectar drips.  That is the secret of all healing. (per Sanskrit Mantra Guru, Satguru Sant Keshavadas in his book, Lord Ganesha).

    7) OM SIDDHA LAKSHMIYEI NAMAHA: "Salutations to the Divine Mother who is the bestower of supernatural powers." This is a Lakshmi mantra, to the goddess of prosperity and abundance.

(THE ABOVE MANTRAS WERE TRANSMITTED TO JILL BY HER MANTRA GURU, NAMADEVA ARCHARYA, THOMAS ASHLEY-FARRAND)
