“God is everywhere. God knows everything. And his love for us is unbounded.”

JAMES: IT’S WE WHO DON’T KNOW ABOUT OURSELVES

“When we ask God to search us, there isn't anything that he doesn't know about us. Yeah, but there's plenty that we don't know about ourselves.”

In this episode of The Recovery Lifestyle Podcast, John discusses the book "Dangerous Prayers" by Craig Groeschel. He explains the purpose of the book and its significance for those in recovery.

    RECOVERY MOMENTS

    JOHN: THE FIVE DANGEROUS PRAYERS

“Jesus didn't just challenge others to leave their own wills behind. He too lived the dangerous states. He touched lepers, showed grace to prostitutes, and stood bravely in the face of danger. Then He told us, we could do what He did, and more. So the dangerous prayers are search me, reveal my fears, break me, send me, and disturb me.”

JOHN: EARNESTLY PRAY FOR GOD TO USE YOU

“If you're feeling like your prayer life is stale, or if you hit a recovery plateau, then earnestly pray for God to use you, and He will.”

    Check Your Heart

    Check Your Heart

Today we explore some verses that I brought up yesterday in our new series. Jeremiah 17:9-10 talks about the human heart. We like to say "Follow your heart!" but that can lead us to places that we'll end up finding hurt or giving it out. Check your heart!

The music on the podcast is from John Nugent. John is a Chicagoland area musician who has been a real blessing to Tabor Church.

    Confession

    Confession

Today we are talking about confession. This is a topic everyone can understand. Followers of Christ live lives filled with confession. But people outside the Church also understand what it means to have crippling guilt and anxious thoughts. Where do we go to lay these burdens down?

    Submerged

    Submerged
This sermon was part of the Sunday service in which we celebrated what God did in VBS during the prior week (great stuff). This year’s VBS invited kids to dive into an adventure like no other, scouring the mysterious fathoms of the deep sea through skit, stories, crafts, games, and snacks. Thrilling discoveries awaited just beyond the portholes of their submarines. Things look very different once you get below the surface – and that’s true for life above the surface, too. As kids submerged themselves in God’s Word, they discovered that Jesus saw people differently. He didn’t just see what’s on the outside; He saw who people were down deep.
