John 18: I Have Said Nothing in Secret

John 18: I Have Said Nothing in Secret

    John 18 (NKJV)
Andrew and Edwin consider how freeing it is to be honest, sincere, loyal, truthful. Jesus had no fear who the council would call as witnesses. No one would be able to convict Him of sin. Sure, some may lie about Him, but no one would be able to reveal some secret fault, sin, lie. Wow! Let's live like that.

    S5E12 - Disingenuous

    S5E12 - Disingenuous

We live in a world now where we don't show any kind of love nor compassion to the people we are around all the time and it sucks honestly, I feel we need to tell people what we think about them whether it be good or bad it needs to be honest. Communication is key for every large team down to one on one relationships. Anytime we speak to someone we have to remember we are all human with similar struggles and situations, and the way we talk has to be genuine it can't be all business. This is all food for thought this week here at TGSP.

    Luke Chapter 3 Part 2

    Luke Chapter 3 Part 2
John, the Baptists called people to repentance. And that message of repentance is still just as valid today, nearly 2000 years later. So the question that you and I should ask ourselves is this have we truly repented? Now God knows all things. He knows whether you had been sincere or not. But the sad fact of the matter is this today, because Bible teaching has become watered down. It has been greatly influenced by the world rather than the authority of Scripture. Sincere but Mistaken

    Sincere but Mistaken

"God knows my heart!" vs "The heart is deceitful above all things."
Is it ok to live according to our own will, to do things our own way, and to allow the opinions of others to guide our decisions and behavior?
Are we still "Christians" if we don't repent, don't deny ourselves, and don't take up our cross to follow the Christ?
What does the Word of God teach us about believers who did things their own way? Does it apply to us or not?...
    Let's talk about it.

James 4: Who are You to Judge Your Neighbor?

James 4: Who are You to Judge Your Neighbor?

    James 4:11-12

James asks, "Who are you to judge your neighbor?" What if we didn't just treat that question rhetorically? What if we actually dug into this issue about judgment, neighbors, and the royal law? What if we found out there is actually a time when we are supposed to exercise judgments in relation to our neighbors? Andrew and Edwin look back at Jesus's statements of the greatest commands and Leviticus 19 where the second greatest command was originally stated in order to answer James's question.

New Relief Society President Camille N. Johnson on how understanding divine nature and purpose leads to lasting happiness

New Relief Society President Camille N. Johnson on how understanding divine nature and purpose leads to lasting happiness

During the October 2021 general conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Primary General President Camille N. Johnson spoke to members about pondering their own personal narrative and allowing Christ to direct their story. Little did she know that six months later, her own narrative would shift as members worldwide sustained her as the Church’s new Relief Society general president, effective Aug. 1. In this episode of the Church News podcast, President Johnson talks about allowing the Savior to be the “author and finisher” of her story — and the individual stories of all.

The Church News Podcast is a weekly podcast that invites listeners to make a journey of connection with members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints across the globe. Host Sarah Jane Weaver, reporter and editor for The Church News for a quarter-century, shares a unique view of the stories, events, and most important people who form this international faith. With each episode, listeners are asked to embark on a journey to learn from one another and ponder, “What do I know now?” because of the experience. Produced by KellieAnn Halvorsen.

What Does the Bible Say About Controlling Our Anger?

What Does the Bible Say About Controlling Our Anger?

In this episode, Arnie and Fred look at what the Bible says about controlling our anger. First of all, Solomon says it is a wise thing to do according to his Proverbs. We discuss ways the Bible tells us that we can do to help control our anger.  Sometimes we may be angry for a good reason, and we look to Jesus to learn this truth.  We also note the role that forgiveness plays in maintaining a calm disposition.  We look at a couple of passages in Ephesians where Paul tells the brethren there how to maintain peace in a local congregation including true forgiveness in that formula. Take about 30 minutes to listen in on our discussion of this important subject. Have your Bible handy so you can verify what we are saying. There is a transcript provided for this Buzzsprout episode for your convenience.

    Ep 53. Compersion

    Ep 53. Compersion

Compersion is an empathetic and whole-hearted joy that we feel when someone else has a positive experience. You can think of compersion as a cousin to compassion. We have compassion for someone when they are going through a difficult or painful experience. We feel for that person in our hearts, right? Well, compersion is that same kind of love and feeling for others. But compersion is a true joy that you feel when things go right for someone else.
