15 Interview with a Volunteer (Former Student) Who Went to Polish/Ukrainian Border for 6 Weeks

I interview a former student,  D.J.  Corbett, who volunteered at the Polish-Ukrainian border for 6 weeks. He snuck into Ukraine briefly with a supply of donated basic goods he bought. Homeland Security in USA pulled him aside and gave him some strongly worded suggestions. Lots of heart-wrenching incidents and a few heart warming ones.  D.J. connected with some Polish riot police and we both play chess with them now via the internet. Much more...

Episode 46: Soka Gakkai vs. Thierry Tilly

Episode 46: Soka Gakkai vs. Thierry Tilly

This week we're throwin' a party! A POLITICAL party! Under the smug, starfucking veneer of leader Daisaku Ikeida, a Japanese Buddhism rip-offshoot called Soka Gakkai that is also a political party? With like 20% of the vote?!? I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation (there isn't). We're also partying down in an abandoned secretarial school, in Paris! That's thanks to Thierry Tilly, a run-of-the-mill creep who bled a family of French aristocrats dry, and if you're not noting any sadness in this sentence, you're not imagining things. Hon hon! Bread! Also this week we realize our podcast's long lost tag line: "Something to look forward to; and something to do."

    #001 - Ephraim Mattos

    #001 - Ephraim Mattos

Speaking 1:1 with Ephraim Mattos, former Navy SEAL sniper and combat medic, survivor of the deadly urban Battle of Mosul, producer/host Jeff Gabriel discovers an uncomplicated, humble, and candid guy…someone to have a beer with at a local bar.  But Mattos has experienced and survived atrocities of war that few of us can even imagine.

Retired from the military, he continues to join other humanitarian warriors in saving those least likely to be helped by conventional humanitarian or missionary work – such as the Free Burma Rangers on the frontlines of the war on ISIS.  He is founder of Stronghold Rescue & Relief for people suffering from genocide and human trafficking, reinventing the way things are done in the humanitarian world.

“I want to be on the frontlines,” he says, “going into places where other people can’t go to do things other people can’t do.”

Share some fascinating insights into Mattos’ background and psyche which, combined with his unique skill set, continue to propel him into harm’s way to make the impossible possible.

Beltway Snipers the Hunt for the Killers and Arrest

In 2002 the deadly duo, known as The Beltway Snipers, kept the Country in a state of fear with their deadly killing spree. They murdered 17 and injured 10 others during their 10 month reign of terror. David Reichenbaugh, retired Maryland State Police Lieutenant and Author of the book joins us. He talks about the intense investigation that led to the arrest and conviction of the deadly pair. And the execution of one of the snipers.

Background song Hurricane is used with permission from the band Dark Horse Flyer.
