    • Deepening into the call to connect with the soft hum of vitality that is available to us all amidst times of inner or outer winter;
    • Tools for creating 'fluid structure' in seasons of transitions, so that we may be carried forward with gentle momentum instead of becoming weighed down by dullness or heaviness;

    Stuff: the next big thing, accepting seasons, and rest

    Hello,
    Well, it's been a while. I hope you've been good! Today's episode is all about accepting seasons, the "next big thing" mentality, and the importance of rest, especially spiritual rest. I also talk about the waiting season and how I believe it should be called the "refining season" instead. God bless, and I pray this episode is a blessing to you!

    How To Rest Pt 1: What Is Rest and How Do We Sabbath? feat. Pastor Kevin White

    How To Rest Pt 1: What Is Rest and How Do We Sabbath? feat. Pastor Kevin White

    On the ninth episode of season two of The Sarah Show, Sarah talks with Youth Pastor Kevin White about the historical background of rest and its purpose in our lives.

    Pastor Kevin has worked as a youth pastor at Cornerstone Christian Community Church for 14 years, and he has learned a lot about the necessary rhythms of both work and rest.

    Pastor Kevin and Sarah dive into why God rested on the seventh day after creating the earth, and why He set an example we should follow.

    They also dig into Jesus' time on earth, and how he said that the Sabbath wasn't supposed to be a bunch of rules but that true rest came in a close relationship with Him.

    Pastor Kevin and Sarah share the different ways they "shabbat" (stop work) and "nuakh" (settle and be restfully present) during the week, and what that looks like practically.

    This is the first part of the two-part series on rest —so stay subscribed and follow The Sarah Show to keep up with the series! You won't want to miss either episode.

    Infallibility VS Inerrancy, What Difference Does it Make?

    Infallibility VS Inerrancy, What Difference Does it Make?

    How do we handle the apparent "errors" and "contradictions" in our Bible? Our faith may very well depend on whether we believe our Bible is infallible or inerrant. Living in a YouTube and Google generation means that we have no excuse not to have basic answers for those who have sincere questions about the accuracy of God's Word. You won't be a scholar after this episode, but you will be a more informed and battle-ready Christian. Take the time to learn the difference between these two theological terms and what you can do to strengthen your confidence in God's word.

    Tired and Hungry

    Serving Jesus by serving people is rarely convenient and in fact, it can be downright exhausting! Even a season of spiritual success can leave you fatigued and needing to breakaway to recharge. Although we want to rest, there will be times we are interrupted and left looking to Jesus for the grace to supply what people need. Are you tired? Do you feel like God is asking you to step out and sense that you lack the resources for the task at hand? Listen and be encouraged!

    28: Restoration = Rest with Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith

    28: Restoration = Rest with Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith

    How many of us are willing to admit we are exhausted beyond explanation? Sure, our bodies are tired. But so are our minds, our emotions, and our souls. We run and run and run, trying to keep up with all the demands and expectations placed on us and those we place on ourselves. We rarely take the time to rest.

    For some, sleep comes easily when your head hits the pillow. While others, many others, struggle to piece together five hours of sleep over the course of a night. Sleep, or physical rest, is as vital to our overall health as food and water.

    But physical rest is but one of the seven types of rest we need says Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith, author of the book Sacred Rest.

    In this episode, Dr. Saundra explains the difference between sleep and rest and how rest replenishes, restores, renews, recovers, rebuilds, regenerates, remolds, and repairs every area of our lives. Rest does important work! We discuss each of the seven areas of rest and examples of how to get that rest so you may enjoy your life fully.

    The seven areas of rest are:

    • physical rest
    • mental rest
    • emotional rest
    • spiritual rest
    • social rest
    • sensory rest
    • creative rest

    When I heard her discussing her book, Sacred Rest, at a writers conference, I knew I had to read it. Taking the Rest Quiz at restquiz.com helped me discover what areas of rest I needed most. Once I put her practice of rest in those areas into practice, I noticed more energy, less brain fog, and relief from fatigue.

    Take the rest quiz at restquiz.com and learn which types of rest you need.

    Follow Dr. Saundra at ichoosemybestlife.com for resources, tips, and articles about rest and how your health, spirit, emotions, and relationships will thrive when you practice rest.
