Christopher Beth~ When Your Teenagers Mission Trip turns into your Mission Field

Christopher Beth~ When Your Teenagers Mission Trip turns into your Mission Field

"Watch and see where God is working and join him in his work.. " - Christopher Beth

How do you handle that unsettling feeling of needing to do more but not knowing how or what to do?

In today's episode, our guest Christopher Beth, founder of The Bucket Ministry, shares his journey of leaving a successful career in business consulting to dedicate his life to serving others and providing clean water. After a life-changing trip to the Brazilian Amazon, Christopher witnessed the devastating effects of unclean water and felt called to make a difference. He discovered a water filter that could provide clean water and also serve as a tool to introduce people to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Christopher and his team have since served over a million people and are committed to expanding their impact.

    Christophers’s Bio

Christopher Beth is the Founder, Chief Storyteller and Director of The Bucket Ministry, a nonprofit organization that works to provide the love of Jesus and clean water solutions to communities in need around the world.

Prior to founding The Bucket Ministry, Christopher worked as a business consultant. He had no intentions to enter full-time ministry until he accompanied his then-high school daughter on a mission trip to the Brazilian Amazon in 2012.

While on the first stop on the Amazon River, Christopher witnessed the devastating effects of a lack of access to clean water on communities there when a woman asked him if he was thirsty. He watched her grab glasses, walk to the edge of the river and collect two dirty cups of water. Realizing he couldn’t drink this contaminated water, it was in this moment he heard the Lord say to him, “Help them.”

He returned home from the mission trip with a conviction to somehow merge the two great scarcities of God and water into one ministry. Thus, The Bucket Ministry was born.

Since founding The Bucket Ministry in 2015, Christopher has expanded the ministry’s work beyond the Amazon to actively evangelize and provide water filters to over 20 countries. The Bucket Ministry’s mission is to share God’s love through the gift of safe, clean, drinking water; and Christopher has every intention to realize that mission in every place lacking its spiritual and physical blessings.

He is a graduate of The University of Kansas and has been married to his wife Sheri for nearly 30 years. They live in a small town outside Dallas, Texas, and have two children, Savannah and Griffin, grandson Eli, granddaughter Hazel and a new one on the way.

Wow, that was a tough, tough time." - Sam Sprunger

    Sam's Bio

I am 43 years old, and live in NW Ohio. My wife, our 4 sons, and two basset hounds moved almost 2 years ago from NE Indiana, where I had lived my entire life. We are huge Chicago Cubs fans, and yes, the best day of our lives was November 2, 2016! : )

I have taught, online, for 4 years, and also have hosted a podcast for almost just as long! The 500 Section Lounge is the product of my wife telling me that I needed to socialize, after I started my online teaching. I decided that I loved to talk, so a podcast made a perfect fit, in my mind!

So, October 3, 2019, I started my podcast career. It worked out well, because that next March, we all knew the world came to a screeching halt. One thing that didn't stop was people were still willing, and had SO MUCH TIME, to do interviews!

I am the type of person who will talk to absolutely anyone, anywhere, anytime! I love conversing and finding out more about people! There are plenty of times that I will talk, upwards of 5 minutes, to the worker in the check-out line! If we have something to do, my wife will tell me that I can go get the car, so I don't make us late!

I just became a grandparent on October 12, 2022! I go by Pops! I didn't want to be grandpa... Pops was fitting for me! I love being Pops!

My wife and I love going to our boys' events. It's our "relaxation" time! We love seeing our boys performing.

Dawn Barton: Unlocking God’s Divine Purpose and Surrendering a Season of Success

“It's like He is four steps ahead of me…I always envisioned Him holding my hand, like I'm just right behind Him, and Him always turning around going, hold on one second, let me go in this door…I got this. And so I just felt like the whole journey was like that..” ~Dawn Barton

Have you struggled to believe that God will exchange your good for His better?

How would you respond if He asked you to surrender your season of success?

Our guest today, Dawn Barton, will share how God called her to transition from her successful career as a Mary Kay Consultant into becoming an author and how she has learned to navigate a new season of caretaking for her loved one.

    Dawn’s Bio

Dawn Barton left a thirty-year career in sales marketing, despite being pretty darn good at it (like #7 Sales Director in Mary Kay Cosmetics good), to follow a calling and write. Her first book, 2020’s Laughing Through the Ugly Cry, became a bestselling success, garnering the prestigious ECPA Christian Book Award for New Author of the Year. Stunned to be entering her fifties as a successful author, she was inspired to write her second book, Midlife Battle Cry, urging women to resist the pull of streaming television algorithms and get excited about ‘redefining the mighty second half.

Dawn speaks at conferences, churches, elevators, and just about anywhere anyone will listen to her

thoughts on finding joy and humor in even the most difficult of circumstances. When she’s not smiling at blank pages pretending to write, Dawn is a speaker giving talks about cancer, joy, female empowerment, and direct sales, podcast host of the upcoming Porch Ramblings with Dawn Barton, and the founder of the Retreats at Trinity. She’s living the sandwich-generation dream with her husband, daughter, parents, mother-in-law, and too many animals to count in Cantonment, FL

Pam Fields: Moving 2000 Miles as a Homeschooling Mother of Nine

“The day our moving truck got here, there were 31 people to welcome us to Tennessee and unload our truck for us. I think it took an hour and a half. It was amazing. Amazing. Amazing. And, and so this is the way the Lord works. He goes before us.” ~Pam Fields

How do you respond to the suddenly promptings of the Holy Spirit?

Would you be willing to move across the country if God made it clear as day that you were to uproot your family and start new with Him?

Our guest today, Pam Fields, will share how God led her to move from Oregon to Nashville and what she learned about herself, her family, and God as she took the leap.

    Pam's Bio
