In this editorial segment, Mr. Sujit Nair addresses the imbalanced allocation of funds between northern and southern Indian states, along with the upcoming delimitation and seat redistribution in Parliament. Tamil Nadu, for every rupee it contributes to the Centre receives only 29 paise in return, while Uttar Pradesh gets ₹2.73 and Bihar receives ₹7.06. The current formula used by the Fifteenth Finance Commission (XVFC) for distributing funds from the pooled-in tax collections favors certain states, leading to significant disparities. The higher weightage given to population in the formula disproportionately benefits some northern states, causing contention between the affected states and the Centre. Tamil Nadu's Finance Minister, P.T.R. Palanivel Thiagarajan, criticizes the allocation based on population, stating that it rewards states that have not effectively controlled their population.

There has been a dichotomy between the foreign investments announced and the foreign investments actually implemented. Various states have been seen announcing huge investments in their states however the conversion of the MOUs to actual investments are different and contrasting. India on Friday reported 6.050 new Covid-19 cases, the health ministry data stated. The country witnessed a hike of 13 per cent in coronavirus cases than yesterday. According to the health ministry data, India reported 14 more fatalities due to the virus. The total death count stands at 5,30,943. The number of discharged people stood at 4,41,85,858 as per data shared by the ministry on Friday. Amid the rise in the Covid cases, Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will chair a high-level meeting today. The daily positivity rate is pegged at 3.39 per cent while the weekly positivity rate stands at 3.02 per cent, the ministry said. Total number of tests done during the previous day 1,78,533 

Telangana BJP president and MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar was detained after midnight on Wednesday from his residence in Karimnagar ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the state. Reportedly, a team of police reached the MP's residence in Karimnagar and took him into custody, reported news agency ANI. 

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) legislator and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar’s (KCR) daughter K. Kavitha on 9 March for questioning in the Delhi liquor scam.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is probing the alleged Delhi excise policy scam, on Friday, December 2, issued notice to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's daughter and Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MLC K Kavitha for questioning her in the case on December 6. The probe agency issued the notice under Section 160 of the Code of Criminal Procedure and asked her to intimate the place of residence as per her convenience for the examination at 11 am on that day. Under Section 160 of CrPC, the investigating officer can summon any person as witness in a particular case. Kavitha, in a statement, said that she informed the authorities that they can meet her at her Hyderabad residence. Kavitha asked the central agency to provide details, including copies of the complaint in the case, to acquaint herself and answer appropriately "within a reasonable period of time". 

In a major development in MLAs poaching case, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Telangana Police has summoned Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) General Secretary (Organisation) BL Santhosh. 

तेलंगाना में हॉर्स-ट्रेडिंग का मामला तूल पकड़ता जा रहा है। हॉर्स-ट्रेडिंग का मतलब होता है राजनीति में विधायकों की खरीद-फरोख्त। इस मामले में SIT ने भाजपा नेता बीएल संतोष को तलब किया है। SIT ने उन्हें 21 नवंबर को पुलिस थाने में पेश होने के लिए कहा है। जानकारी के मुताबिक अगर वे पेश नहीं होते हैं तो ऐसे में उनकी गिरफ्तारी तय मानी जा रही है। इधर भाजपा नेता ने भी हाईकोर्ट में अंतरिम याचिका दायर करने का फैसला किया है।

तेलंगाना में विधायकों की कथित खरीद-फरोख्त का मामला तूल पकड़ता जा रहा है. तेलंगाना के मुख्यमंत्री और TRS पार्टी के प्रमुख के चंद्रशेखर राव ने अब वीडियो जारी कर भारतीय जनता पार्टी (BJP) पर निशाना साधा है. केसीआर ने गुरुवार को हैदराबाद में प्रेस कांफ्रेंस कर प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी, गृह मंत्री अमित शाह, बीजेपी चीफ जेपी नड्डा और बीजेपी नेता बीएल संतोष पर जमकर निशाना साधा. केसीआर ने प्रेस कांफ्रेंस में कहा कि उनकी पार्टी के 4 विधायकों को रिश्वत देने की पेशकश के मामले में उन्होंने कई फुटेज और 3 घंटे का वीडियो क्लिप तेलंगाना हाई कोर्ट को सबूत के तौर पर सौंपा है. उन्होंने दावा किया कि वीडियो से साफतौर पर खुलासा हो रहा है कि विधायकों को 100 करोड़ रुपए देने की पेशकश की जा रही थी.
