    Tommy Chain
     Is in his 13th season of work with the Bearkat women and serves as Associate Coach of Sam Houston Women's golf team and Men’s Assistant Coach.  After 4 years of collegiate golf (1973-77) at University of St. Thomas, Tommy played Professional golf from 1977-1982 which included stints on the PGA Tour from 1979-1982.  On the PGA Tour, Coach Chain carded 2 top 25 finishes with a 24that the 1982 Anheuser-Busch Classic and career best t-20th at 1979 Hawaiian Open, his 1st PGA Tour event.  After playing, Coach Chain served as a golf professional at Mill Ridge Golf Club and became lead instructor for the U.S. Schools of Golf at Waterwood National from 2000-2006.  With more than 40 years of golf experience as a professional, player, and teacher, Coach Chain has helped to lead Bearkat Women to new heights.

    Will Davis, who served on staff at one of the nation’s most prestigious programs in LSU for eight seasons before posting a season under Lamar Hall of Fame coach Jim Gilligan, is in his fourth season at the helm of the Cardinal baseball team. He was hired as the head coach in waiting on Jan. 15, 2016, and replaced Gilligan at the end of the 2016 season.

    Since taking over the program in January of 2016, Davis has coached seven Cardinals that were later drafted by the MLB and has led 13 Cardinals to All-SLC honors and a Freshman All-American award.

    Loren “Buck” Smith begins his 22nd season as the head diving coach at Eastern Michigan University in 2021-22.

    During his tenure at Eastern Michigan University, Smith has qualified nine female divers to the NCAA Championships, while producing six NCAA All-Americans, including Kelly Hendricks who placed third on 3-meter at the 2013 NCAA Championships. Smith has had six First Team All-MAC selections, eight Second Team All-MAC honorees, won 13 MAC Championship individual titles and had four divers named MAC Divers of the Year a total of eight times, along with one MAC Freshman Diver of the Year.  He has also been named MAC Diving Coach of the Year 12 times on the women’s side.

    Joel Greenlee is entering his 20th season as the head coach of the Bobcat wrestling program after helping a program-best 6 individuals earn bids for the 2014 NCAA Wrestling Championships. Senior Jeremy Johnson achieved All-American honors for the second time in his career placing 7th at the NCAA Championships. 

    The 2013-2014 Bobcat squad also excelled academically under Greenlee, being named the 11th ranked academic wrestling program in the nation by the National Wrestling Coaches Association. This marked the second consecutive season the Bobcats achieved a top 15 ranking in academics. They were ranked 15th in 2012-2013 with five academic All-Americans. The 2012-2013 season concluded with five individuals competing at the NCAA Championships where redshirt freshman Cody Walters earned All-American honors.

    Coach Kosty begins his 17th season at the helm of the Navy baseball program in 2022 and he has become the program’s second-winningest head coach with 481 victories in Annapolis. After passing Max Bishop (306) on March 20, 2016, with a 7-3 victory over NJIT, he now trails just Joe Duff (595) in the all-time coaching standings.

    In 10 of his 16 seasons, the Mids have won at least 30 games; marking the first time that the program has accomplished the feat. In 2016, Kostacopoulos’ Midshipmen squad won a school-record 43 games, the most-ever for a Naval Academy athletic team. During the 2019 campaign, he led NAVY to the second-most wins in school history with 39. For those within the college baseball ranks, this type of success should not come as a surprise as it has been synonymous with Kostacopoulos throughout his career.

    On College Recruiting Mindset Podcast; Illinois State Deputy Director of Athletics Leanna Bordner announced Aug. 19, 2013, that Mark Klysner, former head men's and women's tennis coach at Youngstown State, would take over as ISU's head men's tennis coach.

    Since his arrival, Coach Klysner has coached a Summit League Player of the Year, seven All-Conference honorees, and surpassed 100 career wins, tallying 61 at Illinois State. 

    Prior to Illinois State, Klysner spent the three seasons as Youngstown State's head men's tennis coach, while also serving as the head women's tennis coach for the past two years. During the 2012-13 campaign, both programs combined to win 28 matches, with the women winning 15 and the men earning 13 victories. Klysner guided the women's team to its most dual wins in a season since 1998-99, while the men's 13 victories were the most since 1990-91.

    Mikey Nantze is in his fifth year as an assistant coach with the Willamette University baseball team in 2020-21. He works with the hitters and is the third base coach during games. He also is the team's recruiting coordinator.

    Nantze arrived at Willamette after serving as the hitting coach and working with catchers at Union City High School (Tenn.) in 2016.

    Originally from Carmichael, California, Nantze received an Associate of Arts degree from Sierra College and completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Tennessee at Martin. In 2016, he received a Bachelor of Arts degree from UT-Martin in Early Childhood Education.

    ISR #20 - Head Swimming & Diving Coach at University of Illinois at Chicago - Tim Loeffler

    Tim Loeffler was hired as UIC's head men's and women's swim coach on June 3, 2014. The 2019 Horizon League Championships saw three Flames claim individual swimming titles. Loeffler also guided four individuals and one relay team to UIC program records. In 2018, four individuals won conference championships and four more program records were broken. Additionally, five swimmers qualified for the US Open Championships in 2019, where one (Michael Tegeler - 200 back) qualified for finals.

    Before arriving at UIC, Loeffler spent the 2013-14 season as an assistant coach at Army where he helped the men's team claim runner-up honors in the Patriot League Championships. Prior to his time at West Point, Loeffler served four years as the assistant coach at Michigan State where he worked primarily with the middle distance and distance freestyle swimmers. Loeffler also gained valuable experience as the Spartan's lead recruiter and director of summer camps.

    ISR #19 - Former Track and Filed Director at Monmouth University - Joe Compagni

    Following his 24th season as Monmouth University's Director/Head Coach of Cross Country and Track & Field,  Joen Compagni has announced his retirement.

    Since Compagni took over in 1995, the men's and women's cross country and track & field teams have won a total of 58 conference titles in both the NEC and MAAC. The Hawks have also won one ECAC and one IC4A team title. He has been named NEC, MAAC, and NCAA Regional Coach of the Year 58 times – 27 times in the NEC, 23 times in the MAAC, and 8 times as a USTFCCCA NCAA Division I Mid-Atlantic Region Coach of the Year.
     
    Since joining the MAAC in the 2013-14 season, Compagni and his staff have led the Blue and White to a total of 23 indoor and outdoor titles out of a possible 24. Between the NEC and the MAAC, the Monmouth men and women have both won the last eleven consecutive Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

    ISR #18 - Head Softball Coach at University of Maryland Eastern Shore - Karla Powell

    The University of Maryland Eastern Shore named Karla Powell as the head coach ahead of the 2019 season.

    The 2020 season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic before conference season began. The squad had 10 players named to the MEAC Commissioner's All-Academic Team and All-Academic Softball Team.

    In 2019, Powell led the Hawks to eight wins, doubling the win total of four from 2018. The team shared the Quantum Leap award with the Hawks' Women's Basketball Team after the season at the Harry's. 

    Powell was an assistant coach at five different institutions at a variety of levels since her playing days ended at The University of Wisconsin in 2012. She comes to Eastern Shore from the staff at George Mason University a post she had held for only a few months.

    Prior to that, she was at Florida Southwestern State College of the NJCAA, where she was part of the coaching staff for the school’s first three seasons of play from 2015-18. There she was responsible for the offense for a team that went 172-28 and won three Suncoast Conference Championships. The teams garnered ninth (2016), third (2017) and fifth (2018) place finishes at NJCAA National Tournament.

    ISR #17 - Head Lacrosse Coach at Stevens Institute of Technology - Gene Peluso

    Gene Peluso is in his 12th season as the head coach of the Stevens men’s lacrosse team and begins the 2021 season with a 138-51 record in his tenure with the Ducks. His 138 wins are the most of any coach in program history.

    Peluso has led the Ducks to four NCAA Tournament Appearances, a pair of Empire 8 Conference Tournament Championships, and four Empire 8 Regular Season titles.

    Additionally, Peluso has coached a total of 34 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association All-Americans and 26 USILA Academic All-Americans. He has earned Empire 8 Coach of the Year honors four times while also being named the Intercollegiate Men’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Coach of the Year in 2018.

    In his career, Peluso has compiled an overall record of 267-130 as a head coach heading into the 2021 campaign.

    Tim Quinlan enters his first season as an assistant men's basketball coach at Drew University in 2020-21.

    Quinlan comes to the Forest after serving as a graduate assistant at Division I Columbia University over the last two years. He held multiple roles with the Ivy League institution, including player evaluation, on-court coaching, and budget management. In addition, Quinlan directed, managed, and promoted the program's summer basketball camps. He earned a Master of Science Degree in Sports Management from Columbia in 2020.

    ISR #15 - What Schools Are You Looking At - Head Fencing Coach at Drew University - Vincent Paragano

    Head Fencing Coach Vince Paragano of Bernardsville, N.J. is a certified United States Fencing Association/NCAA Professional Fencing Coach. Paragano has been the men’s and women’s head fencing coach at Drew University (NCAA Varsity) since taking over the program midway through the 2014-2015 college season. Over the past five full seasons, he has led the Rangers to an astounding 300-plus dual-meet victory, placing them among the top Division III programs in the nation.

    Paragano is also an experienced national and international-level competitor. Most recently, he brought home gold medals in veterans saber at the 2018 Pan American Championships in El Salvador; the 2017 Pan American Veterans Championships in St. Thomas, Va.; the 2017 SGA National Veterans Fencing Championships, and the 2016 Pan American Veterans Championships in Ponce, P.R. He also captured a saber silver medal at the 2019 Pan American Veterans Championships in Cochabamba, Bolivia and the bronze medal at the 2015 Pan American Veterans Championships in Lima Peru. In addition, he is a three-time winner of the New Jersey Veterans Cup in saber.
